| With the continuous development of China’s cultural and creative industries and the growing demand for culture,the in-depth study of cultural and creative product design has gradually become a hot spot in the industry.However,at present,there are still problems such as similarity and monotony in the extraction of symbols from Suzhou-style garden windows;there is a lack of cultural connotation and the design aesthetics cannot be integrated into modern trends in the cultural and creative products,and the product development of Suzhou regional characteristics is only applicable to the local area,and there is a lack of macro-level research on the construction of a systematic model for the extraction of cultural symbols from Suzhoustyle garden windows,which has not formed a universal design for the extraction of cultural symbols.The process of cultural symbol extraction has not been developed.Therefore,to address the above problems,this dissertation is based on the three elements of semiotics and the principle of topology from the perspective of communication,and conducts research on the extension reconfiguration design of cultural symbols of Suzhou-style garden windows.Firstly,through reviewing and analyzing domestic and foreign literature,we sorted out the communication theory,semiotic theory,design factor and extension theory,and proposed the design process of extension reconstruction of cultural symbols.The explicit and implicit relationships in the design factors of Suzhou-style garden windows are corresponded to the communication media and communication contents in the 5W model of communication,and the functions and acquisition characteristics of the communication media are clarified.Based on the explicit and implicit design factors,the explicit cultural symbols of Suzhou-style garden windows are divided into shape,decoration,color and material,and the explicit cultural symbols are interpreted using the theory of three elements of semiotics to obtain the explicit symbol samples needed for the extension reconstructed cultural symbols;the implicit cultural symbols of Suzhou-style garden windows are interpreted and defined to obtain the communication contents for Suzhou-style garden windows.Secondly,based on the user research,we obtained the desired symbols of Suzhou-style garden windows,and established the theoretical model for the extension reconstructed cultural symbols by using the topologically innovative method and the rhombic thinking model,and the extracted cultural symbol samples were extension transformed and the target design symbol elements were output to provide reference for the subsequent design of Suzhou-style garden windows.This dissertation aims to provide an innovative design method for extracting cultural symbols and satisfying users’ needs,quantitatively extracting cultural symbols from Suzhou-style garden windows,reconstructing the design and applying it to the cultural and creative products.The research will enrich the content of Suzhou-style cultural and creative products,further promote the development and inheritance of Suzhou-style traditional culture,and provide a new way for Suzhou-style cultural innovation. |
