After experiencing high speed growth,Chinese economy has now entered the stage of high quality development,and the release of the outline of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" development strategy has put forward high quality development requirements for the urban and rural planning industry.At the same time,the urban and rural planning industry is also undergoing profound changes.The further expansion of the advantages of leading enterprises,the intensification of talent competition,the transformation of customer demand,and the digital transformation have all brought greater challenges to the business of urban and rural planning.Due to the short marketization process of urban and rural planning enterprises,it is imperative to develop competitive strategies in order to better cope with the fierce competition environment.This paper takes A urban and rural Planning Company as a case,and lays a theoretical foundation for the study of Company A’s competitive strategy by referring to a large number of domestic and foreign literature on corporate strategy.Combined with the development status and existing problems of Company A,this paper chooses focusing strategy as Company A’s competitive strategy.At the same time,the strategy implementation measures are put forward from seven aspects,such as focusing on market segmentation,strengthening technological innovation and attaching importance to management.In line with a scientific and rigorous attitude,this paper uses a large number of strategic analysis tools to ensure the academic research as much as possible.The first is to study the external environment of Company A,including macro environment and industry environment.PEST model and Porter’s five forces model are respectively used to select competitors through strategic group analysis to determine the competitive advantages and disadvantages of Company A.Secondly,in the part of internal environment research,the value of internal resources of Company A is analyzed by value chain analysis and VRIO model.By benchmarking leading enterprises in the industry,the gap in competitive advantage of Company A is found.Finally,SWOT analysis is used to comprehensively identify the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats of company A,so as to provide the basis for the selection of competitive strategy.This paper expands the research results in the field of strategic management in the urban and rural planning industry,provides some theoretical reference for subsequent researchers committed to strategic management in this industry,and provides some implications for the strategic selection and implementation of urban and rural planning enterprises.
