Comparative Study On The Competitiveness Of Liaoning Equipment Manufacturing Industry Under The Background Of Digital Economy

The "big data,industrial Internet,artificial intelligence,Internet of Things,and cloud computing" based digital economy.Digital economy has become a key factor in the development of global competitiveness.The manufacturing of equipment is a significant sector of the economy and a significant symbol of the overall power of the nation.The primary and most important sector in Liaoning Province is equipment manufacturing,which supports the region’s economic growth.The system mechanism,technical staff,and other elements of Liaoning,however,have limitations and deficiencies,causing the equipment manufacturing sector to lag behind Jiangsu,Guangdong,and other manufacturing provinces.Therefore,to improve Liaoning’s equipment manufacturing industry’s competitiveness,close the gap between Liaoning and other provinces and cities in terms of equipment manufacturing,and encourage the shift from "Made in Liaoning" to "intelligent manufacturing in Liaoning," three pressing issues must be addressed and resolved.This article reviews and summarizes the literature on the competitiveness of the digital economy and the equipment manufacturing business,as well as the state of the art at the time;elaborated ideas on the equipment manufacturing industry,the digital economy,and industrial competitiveness;Secondly,it expounds the general situation of Liaoning equipment manufacturing industry and the construction situation of digital Liaoning,and performs SWOT analysis of Liaoning equipment manufacturing industry based on Porter’s "diamond model".To create a longitudinal comparison of the Liaoning equipment manufacturing sector,Thirdly,by referring to the existing evaluation models and systems,to create a longitudinal comparison of the Liaoning equipment manufacturing sector,data from 2011 to 2020 were chosen.By selecting the overall data of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry in 2011,2015,2019 and 2020 and eight big sub-industries,the competitiveness of the Liaoning equipment manufacturing sector was examined from three perspectives using SPSS26.0: scale competitiveness,efficiency competitiveness,and innovation competitiveness.The factor score ranking is obtained and compared with the advanced equipment manufacturing provinces,namely Guangdong and Jiangsu.We use principal components to quantify the level of digital economy development across Chinese provinces,create a regression model,and emphasize how the digital economy helps the industry of equipment manufacture remain competitive,and make a comparative analysis of digital economy with Guangdong and Jiangsu.This paper concludes with some pertinent recommendations for the equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province,primarily from the government level,the industry level,and the intermediary level,using the new generation of digital technology to promote the high-quality development of the equipment manufacturing industry and hasten the development of digital Liaoning,an intelligent manufacturing strong province.According to the results of the empirical study,it is concluded that the level of operation and scale,innovation ability and benefit level have obvious explanatory effect on raising the equipment manufacturing sector’s degree of competitiveness.In 2013 and 2014,the Liaoning equipment manufacturing industry’s factor comprehensive score increased.In 2020,the competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry above designated scale in Liaoning ranked 8th among all provinces in China,among which scale,efficiency and innovation competitiveness factors ranked 18th,2nd and 15th respectively.The industries in which Liaoning’s equipment manufacturing industry has comparative advantages are automobile manufacturing and computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing.By comparing with the more advanced provinces of equipment manufacturing,namely Guangdong and Jiangsu,it is concluded that there is a large gap between Liaoning and these two provinces in terms of scale and innovation,while Liaoning has certain advantages in terms of benefits.The regression equation reveals that the equipment manufacturing industry is somewhat promoted by the digital economy’s level of development.Compared to Guangdong and Jiangsu,Liaoning has more space for growth in terms of its digital economy.
