University dormitory buildings, whose building area keeps growing rapidly every year, have great potential for energy saving and emission reduction in the construction industry.Energy models are an important tool in energy conservation research. In addition to single-scale energy models, more attention is now focused on large-scale energy models for building clusters. The concept of urban building energy modeling has greatly contributed to the research in this field, and existing related studies have been carried out in Beijing,Chongqing,Guangzhou and Changsha, but are not common in severe cold area. Therefore, this paper takes the dormitory of universities in severe cold area as an example to carry out the research on the urban building energy modeling. The first step is to obtain the building geometric data, including drawings and inversions,in which the inversions are mainly used to extract the required building footprint, building height, building window-to-wall ratio and other data from the existing satellite images and street view images. Then, the sample capacity was determined and a sample database was established according to relevant literature, and 177 dormitory buildings in twelve university campuses in Daqing and Harbin were selected as the research samples. On the basis of the established database, the prototype model and the building-by-building model were established by combining De ST and UMI software. The prototype model was established by combining mathematical statistics and literature research, while the building-by-building model was established by combining geometric modeling with tracing based on the relevant parameters of the prototype model. The two models were validated and compared according to the relevant energy consumption standards, and it was found that the simulation results of the heating energy consumption of the building-by-building model were closer to the limit values in the standard. Finally, based on the building-by-building model analysis of the energy consumption of the severe cold area university dormitory, the analysis includes analysis of the current situation of energy consumption, prediction of energy consumption under future climate change conditions, and analysis of the impact of building group layout on energy consumption. The predicted future energy consumption is obtained by adjusting the relevant meteorological parameters on the basis of CMIP6 data and simulating again. The results show that the future heating energy consumption and total energy consumption of severe cold area dormitories are on a decreasing trend, while the cooling energy consumption is on an increasing trend.Since the proportion of cooling energy consumption in the future remains small,it is believed that climate change will have a positive impact on the energy saving of severe cold area buildings in the future. The analysis of the impact of building group layout on energy consumption is mainly focused on two types of layouts: ranks and columns and enclosures, and a number of layout suggestions are made by comparing and summarizing the relevant layouts.
