In the manufacturing industry,it’s still common to use waterfall management process in the traditional project management.It requires a rigorous project plan,and the whole project process is including several different phases which have detailed inputs and outputs.In this case,the product development is inefficient,and also the requirements are hard to change if fixed at the beginning,and the change costs is also high.It means that the traditional project management can’t meet the customers need and market demand in a fast way.In the current economic globalization situation,how to efficiently and quickly deliver products that meet market demand has become one of the most concerned issues for enterprises.As a multinational home appliance Corporation,Company B has already adopted a traditional project management.As its business continues to expand,the organization becomes larger,its processes and workflows become more complex,and teamwork not so sufficient,all those make new product developing inefficient and time-to-market is seriously affected.The Dishwasher Division of Company B as a pilot,to explore how to apply agile mindset in an new product development projects,to improve product development efficiency,and shorten the time-to-market.It is hoped that the agile project management and practices discussed in this article can provide reference for traditional manufacturing companies to manage the same projects and solve the problems that companies may encounter in the process of agile transformation.Starting from the introduction of agile project management,especially SCRUM theory,this paper analyzes and adopt SCRUM to optimize and improve the project management for new product development of dishwashers.E.g,through the project’s organizational structure,development process,performance appraisal,team members and other factors to analyze the problem,and then put forward feasible measures.This paper aims to effectively integrate traditional project management and agile method,such as the characteristics of waterfall management process and the characteristics of agile project management,so as to find the most suitable agile practice methods for manufacturing and provide theoretical basis and practical reference for subsequent research...
