Spatial Design Of Dalian Locomotive Factory Industrial Museum Based On The Perspective Of Industrial Site Protection

With the rapid development of technology,industrial society is undergoing a transformation towards an information society.This poses significant challenges to urban functions and industrial structures.Traditional industrial buildings,factories,structures,and machinery are gradually being phased out as they are unable to meet the needs of urban development.These industrial heritage sites witness the evolution of the times,historical changes,and technological advancements,and possess high comprehensive value.To protect industrial heritage,preserve industrial memories,and adapt to urban development,foreign countries have been exploring the protection and utilization of sites since the 1970 s,proposing various protection strategies.These strategies aim to protect industrial heritage while considering multiple factors such as culture,history,art,and the economy,and promote urban development and industrial transformation.This paper starts from the perspective of industrial heritage protection and elaborates on the following five chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction section,mainly explaining the research background,purpose,significance,research content,and methods,proposing innovative viewpoints,and analyzing and referencing the research status at home and abroad.Chapter 2studies the relevant concepts and theoretical research of industrial heritage sites,forming the theoretical foundation.Chapter 3 analyzes and studies the design cases of industrial heritage transformation into museums at home and abroad,summarizes the basis and experience of transforming industrial heritage sites into industrial museums.Chapter 4 proposes the design principles of protection,culture,and interaction,summarizes the design strategies of reasonable demolition and addition,protecting industrial heritage,promoting industrial culture,and creating characteristic spaces,using multiple media to create interactive experiences.Chapter 5 is an empirical study based on the Dalian Locomotive Factory Industrial Museum,through field research of the Dalian Locomotive Factory,analyzing the geographical location,historical culture,upper-level planning,and existing problems of the factory buildings,and combining with the design practice of the Dalian Locomotive Factory,strengthening the understanding of museum design strategies from the perspective of site protection,refining design ideas,and further summarizing the feasibility of museum space design from the perspective of site protection.Chapter six provides an outlook on the design of the future industrial site transformed into an industrial museum space and summarizes the innovative points in the design process.This paper transforms industrial heritage buildings into industrial museums under the background of site protection,protects and transforms industrial elements such as industrial equipment,provides reference and suggestions for the design and transformation of industrial heritage museums,and promotes high-quality urban development and the inheritance of the industrial spirit of an era.
