In order to realize our "double carbon" goal,we must promote economic transformation and upgrading, and realize low-carbon and healthy economic development. As a new economic form in recent years, digital economy is an important way to achieve healthy and high-quality economic development. With the update of a new round of information technology, the application of digital technology has a broad prospect. The development of digital economy is conducive to promoting the upgrading of industrial structure and making the economic development towards the direction of high energy and low consumption. Therefore,by studying the influence mechanism of digital economy on power consumption efficiency, the influence of spatial spillover effect of digital economy on power consumption efficiency, the spatial heterogeneity of digital economy and the function decomposition of digital economy on power consumption efficiency, this paper enrichedrelevant theoretical and empirical researches on the influence of digital economy on power consumption efficiency. This study fully considers the spatial correlation and regional heterogeneity of electricity consumption, constructs a spatial econometric model, and puts forward reasonable suggestions for policy making. In this paper, the existing literature is summarized, and the theoretical influence mechanism of digital economy on power consumption efficiency and the theory of spatial metrology are reviewed.Secondly, this paper explores the current development of digital economy and electric power consumption by Arc GIS visualization spatial analysis, and analyses the spatial effect and spatiotemporal development changes of both. Then, the spatial autocorrelation test was carried out on the power consumption efficiency, and the panel data of 31 provinces and cities(excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)from 2012 to 2020 were used to construct the spatial Dubin individual fixed effect model, and the influence of digital economy on the power consumption efficiency and the spatial spillover effect were explored.Considering spatial heterogeneity, this paper divides China into eastern, central and western regions, and analyzes the impact of digital economy on different regions. Finally, the impact of digital economy on power consumption efficiency is decomposed, and the impact of four aspects of digital economy on power consumption efficiency is considered respectively. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:First, from the perspective of digital economy, the impact of digital economy on the power consumption per unit GDP is inverted U-shaped.In the early stage of the development of digital economy, the use of electronic equipment will bring about the growth of electricity. With the development of technology, social changes and economic development brought by technology can improve the efficiency of power consumption. Moreover, the spatial spillover effect of digital economy is positive U-shaped,which can promote the improvement of power efficiency in surrounding areas, but the scope of influence is limited.Secondly, from the perspective of regional heterogeneity, the developed degree of digital economy decreases from east to west. The eastern region is the most developed, while the western region is the most backward. The power consumption per unit of GDP increases from east to west, with the lowest power consumption per unit of GDP in eastern regions and the highest power consumption per unit of GDP in western regions. The development of digital economy in the eastern region has the greatest impact on reducing electricity consumption per unit of GDP,followed by the western region.Thirdly, among the control variables, population density has the largest positive impact on the power consumption per unit of GDP.The higher the population density, the lower the power utilization efficiency. The proportion of tertiary industry has the largest negative influence. The higher the proportion of tertiary industry, the lower the power consumption per unit GDP.Fourthly, after the decomposition of the role of digital economy, the construction of digital infrastructure has the greatest impact on improving the efficiency of electricity consumption, because infrastructure construction is the cornerstone of the development of digital economy.Secondly, the spatial spillover effect of digital financial inclusion is the most obvious.Through the empirical and theoretical analysis, the following policy suggestions are put forward: accelerate the construction of digital economic infrastructure;Vigorously develop digital inclusive finance;Promoting the development of digital innovation technology;Cultivating digital talents; We will accelerate the integration of the digital economy and traditional industries.
