China’s urban development has been showing a rapid trend for a period of time, and urban characteristics and personality are gradually declining. In the target stage of high-quality development at present,it is urgent to grasp the direction from the tide of globalization, find the important characteristic of urban characteristics--urban space color, and then find the connotation of urban space color for inheritance and application. This is also an important path for the construction of urban characteristics. The color prototype of urban space is the most typical and representative color representation rooted in people’s collective unconsciousness, starting from the primitive instinct of biological color and forming through cultural historical evolution. It shapes the regional space of human existence under the collective unconsciousness, and is of great benefit to the search for the connotation of color in urban space. Therefore, based on the prototype theory, this paper carries out research on the central axis of modern Canon,a spatial region with a long history and culture,in order to dig out the color characteristics and evolution of its color prototypes in this space that has been steeped in history and culture for a long time.Firstly, this paper studies the color prototype constitution system of the modern urban axis of Guangzhou, analyzes the specific influence of the two major elements of the color prototype constitution system--biological color prototype and cultural color prototype within the research area, and excavates various elements that play a role in the generation of color prototype from a larger spatial area.Based on a large number of color samples, historical records and relevant data records,in-depth and detailed research.Through the analysis of the composition system,it is analyzed that biological color prototypes affect color characteristics and evolution through specific aspects such as geographical environment elements, climate elements and vegetation elements, while cultural color prototypes are mainly based on various cultures prevailing in specific periods and all kinds of carriers with color characteristics rooted in people’s collective unconsciousness. It reflects the cultural characteristics and aesthetic trends of different historical periods, provides valuable historical information, and lays the foundation for the subsequent analysis and comparison of these information to reveal the color evolution law and change trend in different historical stages. Then,on the basis of field research, historical data collection and color prototype induction, the paper analyzes the color characteristics of various periods of the central axis of modern Canon. In terms of the time axis,it mainly divides the four periods from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the modern and modern times and the contemporary times, and interprets the specific color characteristics from the three color carriers of architecture, landscape sketches and handicrafts.Grasp the role of color archetypes in different periods and lay the foundation for the analysis of color evolution in space level. Finally,by combing the color characteristics,it summarizes the law of color evolution and the dynamic factors behind the law of evolution. The law of color evolution is analyzed in detail from two aspects: vertical diachronic and horizontal synchronic, and then the evolution driving force is analyzed. For this study, the regional evolution driving force includes two driving factors: social adaptability of color prototype and cultural adaptability, which complement each other and jointly promote the evolution of color.
