Based on the background of structure cracking and early disease in asphalt pavement,this paper studied the cracking resistance behavior and fatigue performance of the flexible fiber reinforced asphalt chip seal(FFCS).Relying on a specific project,the specific application of FFCS technology was conducted.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)The mix design of FFCS was carried out,and the orthogonal analysis method was used to obtain the influence order of the three factors,the amount of asphalt,the amount of fiber and the length of fiber,on the effect of the flexible fiber reinforced asphalt chip seal.According to the results of orthogonal analysis,the optimal mix design parameters were obtained.(2)The crack resistance of FFCS was tested based on the modified semi-circle bending(SCB)test.The results indicated that the fracture energy of the flexible fiber reinforced asphalt chip seal was better than that of the flexible seal layer without fibers;the optimal dosage of fiber was 75g/m~2for both of the modified emulsified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt.(3)In order to evaluate the inhibitory effect of FFCS on reflective cracks,the Overlay Test(OT)test was used to evaluate the fatigue properties of the composite specimens containing FFCS.The results indicated that the crack resistance index and crack driving force of FFCS were larger than that of the ordinary flexible sealing layer,and the load attenuation rate and dissipation energy were lower,indicating that FFCS presented better cracking resistance.(4)Based on the specific project,the mixing design method suitable for FFCS was proposed,the construction technology of FFCS was summarized,and the quality control method of the construction process was proposed.
