| The seventh national census bulletin released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that China is facing a serious challenge of population aging as the size of the elderly population continues to expand.The aging problem in rural areas is more obvious compared with urban areas,especially in terms of human living environment,there are imperfect age-friendly facilities and insufficient space for leisure activities for the elderly.Faced with this situation,corresponding measures are needed to actively cope with aging.Therefore,how to optimize the existing outdoor public space in rural communities and improve the outdoor public space of rural communities to create more suitable outdoor activity conditions for rural elderly people is very important to improve the physical and mental health of rural elderly people and enhance their sense of well-being.Using Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA),the current spatial situation and the needs of the elderly for the space were studied in the outdoor public space of a village community south of Yinshan in Tumut Right Banner,Baotou,Inner Mongolia.The study used field surveys,behavioral records,and questionnaire interviews to categorize and analyze the current situation of existing community outdoor public spaces in the village,and used ImportancePerformance Analysis(IPA)to study the outdoor public spaces in rural communities south of Yinshan in Baotou,Inner Mongolia’s Tumut Right Banner as The study was conducted to examine the current spatial situation and the needs of the elderly for space.The study used field surveys,behavioral records and questionnaire interviews to categorize and analyze the current situation of the existing community outdoor public space in the village,and screened 26 evaluation indicators in combination with literature studies.Seven public factors were extracted using factor analysis,namely sociality,facility condition,safety,comfort,convenience,aesthetics,and recreation,to construct an evaluation model of outdoor public space in rural communities in the Tumut Right Banner region,and to determine the important priorities of outdoor public space to be renovated indicators in five sample village communities.The study concluded that,from the perspective of the elderly,the overall mean of satisfaction with community outdoor public space in the rural area of Inner Mongolia’s Tuomert Right Banner was 2.59,while the overall mean of importance was 4.51,indicating that the elderly consider the elements of community outdoor public space to be relatively important,but the overall satisfaction level is low.The main factors affecting the performance level of community outdoor public space in this area include: night lighting in the site,emergency rescue facilities in the site,facilities and spaces for parent-child activities,rest facilities such as seating or pavilion porches in the site,complete accessibility facilities in the site,site accessibility,sufficient community outdoor public space,quiet healing environment in the site,rich greenery mix in the site,and The landscape reflects the local culture.Accordingly,the optimized design strategies are proposed to enhance the convenience of rural public space,ensure the safety of villagers’ travel,improve the construction of related supporting facilities,improve the aesthetics of rural public space,create a comfortable spatial environment,increase the recreation of rural public space,and strengthen the social nature of villagers’ activities and interactions.Finally,the actual situation of Miao Liuying Village is combined with the renovation design of the outdoor public space of the community. |
