As one of the major carbon-emitting industries, energy conservation and emission reduction in the construction industry has become a key focus of China’s carbon neutrality efforts in recent years. On the other hand,as the process of urban renewal accelerates, there are many problems such as the use of experiential measures to compensate for building defects in existing community renovations, the fuzzy and arbitrary stacking of sustainable development concepts and technologies, and resource waste caused by large-scale demolition and construction. The main goal of this study is to quantify the environmental benefits of renovation measures at the design stage of building construction and to achieve precise and efficient green renovation of existing communities in order to avoid resource waste. This study is based on computer simulation technology, and establishes a digital model for existing communities in summer-hot and winter-cold(type III)regions, conducting a comparative study of data before and after green renovation design.Firstly,by reviewing the relevant regulations, standards, and simulation tools for existing building renovation design in typical countries, the study establishes a comprehensive green renovation of the indoor and outdoor environments of existing communities using wind environment, light environment, and energy consumption as simulation objects at the design stage.Secondly, the study explores the influencing factors of green renovation design for existing buildings, and interprets green renovation cases for existing communities in summer-hot and winter-cold(type III)regions, thereby proposing green renovation design strategies for the indoor and outdoor environments of existing communities. Finally, through a detailed discussion of the process of "pre-renovation environmental diagnosis-renovation strategy design-post-renovation parameter feedback" using the actual case of the Post and Telecommunications Community in Nanchang, the study verifies the feasibility of a computer simulation-based green indoor and outdoor environment renovation design method that couples wind, light, and energy consumption index technology and parameter settings, providing a reference for large-scale green renovation of existing communities in the future. The main achievements of the study include: proposing feasible green renovation strategies for existing communities in summer-hot and winter-cold(type III)regions;based on computer simulation technology, proposing renovation strategies for existing communities at the digital model level and design stage, and verifying the quantifiable benefits of renovation, providing innovative ideas for research on green renovation design for existing communities from both theoretical and applied perspectives.
