| With the continuous development of urbanization in China,public participation is increasingly emphasized in the design and renovation of community public spaces.In recent years,the gradual popularization of virtual reality technology has provided new ideas and methods for participatory design.This article first sorted out the commonly used public participation methods and evaluation systems in community public space design through literature research,and selected six public space element indicators that require public participation in design,including function,layout,color,greening,interface,and scale.Then,by analyzing domestic and foreign cases of VR intervention in public space design,the focus is on discussing participatory design models under display virtual reality,interactive virtual reality,and interactive augmented reality technology.In order to evaluate the feasibility and satisfaction of virtual reality technology in participatory design of community public spaces,and to understand the correlation between different virtual reality participation modes and public space feature elements,this study conducted empirical experiments in Bajiao Zhongli Community in Shijingshan District,Beijing and No.21 Community in Caoqiao Xinyuan Fourth District,Fengtai District,Beijing.By setting interactive public space function modules in the virtual reality environment,combined with the Likert scale and Pearson correlation test,this paper quantitatively evaluated the public space demand and participation mode under the display VR,interactive AR and interactive VR modes,and counted the correlation between three virtual reality modes and six public space feature elements.The experimental results show that the virtual reality participation mode can simulate scenes and experiences more realistically,making it more interesting and attractive than traditional questionnaire methods.However,due to limitations in popularity,operational difficulty,and participation process,the public’s satisfaction evaluation of their participation experience is not high.In terms of virtual reality participation mode,interactive AR is the most comprehensively evaluated participation mode in community public space design.In terms of the correlation between virtual reality participation mode and public space feature elements,in the display VR mode,participants pay more attention to the expression of spatial color and interface needs;In interactive VR participation methods,there is a strong correlation between public evaluation and spatial layout and scale;In interactive AR,participants pay more attention to the expression of spatial scale,color,and layout design needs.However,a virtual reality participation model that expresses a high level of public demand does not necessarily mean higher public satisfaction.The feasibility and satisfaction of virtual reality participation methods are also related to the age of the public,the popularity of device technology,and the difficulty of operation.Finally,based on the experimental conclusions,the author proposes suggestions and prospects for the application of virtual reality technology in participatory design of community public spaces. |
