The Application Of The Twelve Hour Theme Elements In The Design Of Gift Packaging

The twelve hours are irreplaceable in the traditional calendar and have been used for thousands of years.The twelve hours reflect the scientific nature of the evolution of the sun,moon,and stars,the accuracy of the generalization of the changes in the sky,and the importance of the life and production of the working people.With the broadcast of "The Longest Day in Chang’an" TV series,people have new interpretations of the twelve hours of the day in the contemporary context,and more attention has been paid to the twelve hours of the day from all walks of life.The twelve hours are more often used in Chinese medicine and calendar calculation,and the visual aspect is gradually developed,but there is still a gap in packaging design.How to find a new path for the modern development of traditional culture is an urgent problem we need to solve.Taking the twelve hours as the research object and extracting the relevant concepts and elements that fit with modern times as the entry point,we designed the gift packaging of "ADOODOO" wedding cake around the twelve hours as the theme element.The article mainly focuses on four aspects: Firstly,we analyze the concepts and theories related to the twelve hours of the day,to lay the theoretical basis for the gift packaging design.Secondly,we explore the relationship between the twelve hours and gift packaging,and summarize the principles of gift packaging design;that is,the creation of gift packaging should consider the emotional,cultural,moderate,and humanized design principles.Thirdly,we analyze the brand,market,consumer behavior and industry status analysis of "ADOODOO" wedding cake packaging as an example,and review the common problems and solutions in the packaging design of the wedding cake market.From the cultural connotation of the twelve hours of the day,we extracted the elements related to the change of the sky and the naming of the time.Use visual art techniques to design from packaging structure,process,color,layout,and expression.Integrating the twelve hours and gift packaging has innovative significance for the spiritual interaction between traditional culture and modern design.Through gift packaging as a gift circulation,it provides a reference for the cultural connotation expression form of future gift packaging,It also provides a new path for the transmission and promotion of traditional culture.
