| As an important carrier for residents to engage in daily activities, the environmental quality of urban public spaces directly affects the occurrence of residents’ daily behaviors and their spiritual feelings. In the current urban construction entering a new stage of urban renewal, the renovation of small and micro spaces has become an important way to update the urban public space environment and a key task of urban renewal. At present, some practical results have been achieved in the renovation of small and micro spaces in China, but the comprehensive evaluation after the renovation of small and micro spaces is still insufficient.Studying the comprehensive improvement of small and micro spaces, identifying the spatial environmental factors that affect the comprehensive benefit evaluation, and providing design guidelines,is of great practical significance for future urban renewal and construction. This article takes small and micro space as the research object, attempting to explore and propose a comprehensive benefit evaluation framework that meets the requirements of "efficiency and perception" from both objective space usage and subjective satisfaction evaluation, providing scientific basis for the evaluation and optimization update of small and micro space. The article first defines small and micro space, comprehensive benefit evaluation, space utilization rate, and satisfaction evaluation, and also sorts out the existing research trends.Secondly, using literature review and field research methods, combined with literature and interview results, three primary indicators and 18 secondary indicators that affect comprehensive evaluation were summarized.Quantify the spatial utilization rate and satisfaction data based on on-site research data, construct a spatial utilization rate and satisfaction matrix model, and describe the evaluation results as two states: "harmonious" and "disharmony".Afterwards, correlation analysis was conducted using SPSS software to explore the relationship between 18 spatial elements and spatial utilization rate and satisfaction, and to determine the impact mechanism of spatial elements on comprehensive benefits. Finally, optimization suggestions were proposed for the three types of "mismatched" spaces, and corresponding design strategies for small and micro spaces were proposed based on the different characteristics of temporal spatial use.The comprehensive evaluation model for small and micro spaces established in this study can provide an observation perspective, quantitative basis, and evaluation criteria for the optimization and updating of urban small and micro spaces, which is of great significance for improving the environmental quality of urban public spaces and residents’ happiness. |
