With the improvement of college students’ communication needs in major and life, many of the original building space functions of colleges and universities can no longer meet the diversified needs of groups, and at the same time, many traditional learning spaces are also facing problems such as insufficient utilization and poor space experience. As a core learning group, the university activity group has gradually formed a higher level of demand for the spatial design of colleges and universities. In order to better adapt to campus development, colleges and universities actively introduce shared space construction to meet the psychological and behavioral needs of group activities,so the design of shared space based on environmental psychological analysis is particularly necessary. At present, the spatial relationship of environmental impact behavior is becoming clearer, and the highly humanized design concept continues to penetrate into space design. As an important branch of psychology, environmental psychology has important reference significance for the construction process of shared space.Environmental psychology mainly studies the interrelationship between people and the surrounding environment, analyzes the current situation of design that is not appreciated between people and the environment, and provides corresponding solutions. In the design of indoor space, the humanized satisfaction of space directly affects the inherent vitality of indoor space. Therefore, guiding the design practice of indoor shared space in colleges and universities based on environmental psychology theory is conducive to obtaining comfortable psychological feelings in the space experience, and ultimately promoting the experience to improve their participation in the shared space.Firstly, this paper analyzes the current development trend of shared space, and clarifies the importance of university shared space construction to the collaboration of students, teachers and students. This paper comprehensively analyzes the relevant research progress at home and abroad, systematically sorts out the concepts and development of indoor shared space and environmental psychology in universities, and conducts multi-dimensional analysis of relevant content, form and needs,so as to refine the author’s specific classification of indoor shared space in universities. At the same time, according to the group characteristics, the psychological needs and behavioral characteristics of the college teachers and students group were analyzed.Secondly, this paper analyzes the excellent university shared space design cases at home and abroad, and extracts and summarizes the unique design techniques and rich design elements of the project. Then, based on the relevant theoretical research, concept interpretation and actual case analysis above, the research activities represented by universities in Nanjing were carried out,and according to the research methods such as questionnaire survey and field research, from the research perspective of environmental psychology, how the design practice of indoor shared space in universities should be effectively related to the behavior and psychology of university groups. In addition, based on the above research content, the strategic framework of indoor shared space design in colleges and universities under the guidance of environmental psychology is summarized and summarized, namely: 1.integrity and diversity,2.dynamism and boundaries,3.culture and belonging. The specific design of indoor shared space in colleges and universities is elaborated on four dimensions, namely space function, space organization, space form, and spatial artistic conception. Finally, the renovation of the indoor atrium space of the liberal arts building of Nanjing Forestry University Nanjing Campus is used as the project of this design practice, and how to effectively apply the design strategy of university indoor shared space based on environmental psychology analysis in the previous article. The innovation point of this paper is to conform to the current trend of pursuing humanization in interior space design, and enhance the sense of belonging and identity obtained by college groups in the experience of indoor shared space on campus through the research perspective of environmental psychology,so as to promote the behavioral interaction of campus group communication such as teacher-student collaboration and cross-professional communication between students under the development trend of innovative education.Secondly, compared with the design status quo of indoor shared spaces that universities generally use libraries as architectural carriers,in order to better meet the needs of current teachers and students in daily communication, the author switches the research perspective and constructs indoor shared spaces for different types of university teaching buildings. This paper selects the comprehensive teaching building of colleges and universities as a practical project, and uses the atrium space inside the teaching building to transform and design,so as to provide a convenient and comfortable indoor sharing environment for the teachers and students who are active in the building. Finally, from the planning significance of campus architecture, studying the influencing factors of group behavior and psychology of colleges and universities, analyzing site functions, spatial levels, organizational flow lines and other specific interior design contents through the psychological needs and behavioral characteristics of the group,is conducive to the humanized construction of indoor shared space in colleges and universities. Finally,it improves the learning and collaboration efficiency of college students in indoor shared spaces, which is conducive to universities creating a friendly learning atmosphere at multiple nodes on campus.
