With the continuous improvement of economy and urban construction level, urban commercial complexes have developed rapidly and become an important part of urban construction, and their underground space development scale and development demand are also getting bigger and bigger. At the same time, the problems in the integrated design of above-ground and underground space in urban commercial complexes have been highlighted, mainly in the fragmentation of above-ground space and underground space and poor continuity, resulting in poor vitality and economic benefits of underground space. The integrated above-ground and underground design mode based on urban design perspective can take into account the spatial feeling of both aboveground and underground spaces and enhance the benefits of the integration of aboveground and underground spaces. Therefore, this thesis conducts an in-depth study on urban commercial complexes from the perspective of above-ground and underground integration. This thesis takes the above-ground and underground space of urban commercial complexes as the main research object.Firstly,it classifies urban commercial complexes according to their spatial forms, analyzes the above-ground and underground integration components of urban commercial complexes, and summarizes the problems of the current situation through the research and analysis of typical urban commercial complexes.Secondly, the spatial performance evaluation is used as the entry point to judge the rationality of the indexes by whether the role of the elements effectively promotes the above-ground and underground integration of urban commercial complexes, and the spatial performance evaluation system of above-ground and underground integration of urban commercial complexes is constructed. Then, three typical cases are evaluated, and the shortcomings of the above-ground and underground integration of urban commercial complexes are compared and analyzed based on the evaluation results, and the optimized design strategies for the aboveground and underground integration of urban commercial complexes are summarized and proposed, and applied to Xuzhou Suning Plaza. The main findings of this thesis are as follows:1.classify urban commercial complexes according to spatial form, and divide them into two categories: atrium type urban commercial complexes and inner street type urban commercial complexes;urban commercial complexes above and below ground integration contains four types of constituent elements, such as functional space, traffic space, public space and landscape environment.2.To build a spatial performance evaluation system for urban commercial complexes above and below ground, including four system layers, nine factor layers and 22 index layers, including functional space performance, transportation system performance, public space performance and landscape environment performance.3.To evaluate the spatial performance of typical cases,we compare and analyze the evaluation results and conclude that Suning Plaza has shallow underground space development depth, poor quality of sunken plaza space, lack of vertical space connectivity, and fewer traffic nodes between above and below ground;Nanjing’s Deji Plaza has a more diffuse atrium, lack of green plants and rest facilities;Nanjing Water Tour City has weak guidance of above and below ground businesses and slightly low conversion efficiency of pedestrian flow, etc.A series of deficiencies.4.The optimized design strategy of urban commercial complexes in terms of functional space, traffic system, public space and landscape environment is proposed and applied to Suzhou Suning Plaza to optimize its above-ground and underground integrated space and enhance the vitality of underground space.
