Research Of Incentive Design Of Elderly Care Institutions Based On Physiological And Psychological Characteristics Of Elder People

China has entered on an era of aging society.A great many of elderly care institutions emerge,such as bead house,nursing home,rehabilitation center,senior activity center,etc.At present these institutions,however,are facing the same kind of problems:their design mainly focuses on catering to basic living material of elder people rather than humanistic and emotional care.Ideally we should provide elder people with a dynamic environment on multi-levels and from multi-aspects,so as to inspire them with confidence,to make them feel young,and to glow with their energy.Previous studies claim that the elder expect an environment of safety,peace,stability.This is undoubtedly true but biased,for(1)it indicates that elderly people be seated in a monotonous,dull environment;(2)it overlooks the fact that to a certain extent elder people also need incentives physiologically and psychologically.As a result,the existing elderly care institutions are drab and lack of vigor.After a series of investigations and researches we find that by incentive design of elderly care institutions to their visual,tactile,osphretic and kinesthetic feelings it is possible to enhance their dynamic health and defer their body weakness,arouse their positive feelings and slow down mental aging.These are all beneficial to their health and life.To be specific,we should control the level of incentive design to such a degree that elder people are fond of their surroundings.In modern design of elderly care institutions,incentive design,which should be studied further,is nevertheless not the main subject and scientifically applied.In this paper we propose to provide incentive design which adapts to the pattern of physiological and psychological changes of the elder people.This could be a help for enriching their life and thus live a positive and healthy life.
