Research On The Environmental Transformation Of Public Space In Old Residential Areas From The Perspective Of Child-friendly

The growth of children is related to the progress of the country and the development of the society.It is the common responsibility of the state and the society to pay attention to the needs of children and create a suitable urban environment for children to live in,and it is also an important issue that deserves attention during the critical period of national demographic transition.The quality of the spatial environment plays a very important role in the growth of children,as the public space in residential areas is the most frequent field for children’s daily activities.At the same time,China’s old urban settlements are facing the problems of declining spatial environment quality and neglecting children’s needs in the process of renewal and renovation.Based on this,this paper,from a child-friendly perspective,takes the public space of settlements,which carries children’s daily activities,as the research object,conducts a systematic study on the public space environment of settlements,explores its current problems,constructs a child-friendly evaluation index system for the public space environment of settlements,calculates the weight of each index using hierarchical analysis,clarifies the key contents in the renewal and renovation of the public space environment of settlements,and explores the renovation and improvement strategies.The findings of this paper are as follows:(1)The spatial environment of road traffic in the aluminum factory settlement is in conflict with people and vehicles,which affects children’s travel safety;the spatial environment of green landscape is not attractive enough for children;the spatial environment of activity lacks good systematization and hierarchy,which cannot meet the diversified needs of children’s daily activities;the time of children’s outdoor activities in the settlement is short and the frequency is low.(2)Among the six guideline level evaluation indicators,the activity space environment has the most important impact on the child-friendly evaluation of the public space environment in the aluminum plant settlement,and the actual friendliness has the largest difference with the ideal of the children and parents in the settlement,and is most in need of renewal and renovation,followed by the road traffic space environment,green landscape space environment,public service facilities and environmental facilities.Among the project-level indicators,the most important ones to be renovated are the layout and function of activity space,pedestrian environment,activity facility elements and green layout.Among the factor level indicators,the most important things to consider for renovation are the multi-function of play space,safety of children’s walking path,sufficient number of play space,safety of play facilities and functional compound of green space.(3)Combining the analysis of the empirical survey and evaluation results of the settlement,the strategy of public space environment renovation of the aluminum factory settlement is proposed from five aspects: activity space environment improvement should balance the layout of activity space,enrich the function of activity space and improve the elements of game facilities;road traffic space environment improvement should optimize the structure of the settlement road network,create a safe children’s walking path and regulate the static parking of the settlement;green landscape space environment optimization should compound the function of space and enrich the configuration of plants;public service facilities improvement should make up for the shortcomings and integrate the space of facilities;environmental facilities improvement should innovate signage,add security monitoring,improve sanitation facilities and optimize lighting facilities.
