| With the rapid increase in urbanization and the continuous growth of floating population, the concept of sustainable development has become deeply rooted in people’s minds. With improving the quality of urbanization becoming a development priority. The economic development and the introduction of policies related to the rental market have given rise to the business form of "youth apartments",which provides diverse spaces and services for young migrant workers with different needs.Currently, youth apartments on the Chinese market have proposed the concept and vision of sustainable development. However, there are gaps between ideals and realities in terms of community planning not being able to effectively implement community development plans, and the commercialization of community organization forms. This research aims to study sustainable design tools for youth apartments, starting from the perspective of action situation,by analyzing the original data from sustainable youth apartment samples to explore the influencing factors of sustainable development in youth apartments.Through user research, the relationships between influencing factors are explored, and based on this, design strategies and approaches are proposed, and a design strategy toolkit is created to provide design methods for sustainable youth apartment design,as well as research ideas and references for sustainable design in other community types. In this article, the concept of sustainable youth apartments is first defined, and the characteristics and issues of the current development of youth apartments are clarified. The perspective of action situation provides an effective insight into solving the problems presented by this complex system. The elements of action situation are defined and sustainable community samples are collected. The procedural coding method of grounded theory is used to deconstruct the elements of action situation, and the characteristics of sustainable communities from the perspective of action situation are summarized. Then, through questionnaire surveys and interviews of ordinary apartment users and staff, community pain points and needs are sorted out,and the relationships between ordinary youth apartment demands and action situation elements are explored using affinity diagram workshops.Design opportunities are identified based on the characteristics of sustainable communities, and sustainable design directions for youth apartments are summarized.Secondly, based on the perspective of action situation, the design directions are diverged, and a design strategy framework is proposed, including six design strategies for multi-party negotiation governance in the new social environment, sustainable collective actions driven by mobility, and capital integration and linkage in the "individual-community-society" system. The design strategies provide directions for sustainable youth apartment design. Finally, the design strategies are translated into a clear and standardized design strategy toolkit. The effectiveness and rationality of the toolkit are verified through double-blind experiments in workshop format, and the toolkit is optimized based on feedback from participants, ultimately resulting in a sustainable youth apartment design strategy toolkit for designers to use.The conclusion of the research summarizes the achievements and conclusions of the research topic, and analyzes the limitations and shortcomings of the sample research of sustainable youth apartments and the double-blind experiment workshops, and proposes future research prospects such as expanding the toolkit, applying it to other types of communities, and constructing action situation networks. |
