The issue of transportation service choice has always been a hot point of research in the traffic and transportation field,but there is less research on the segment of tourism travel,and most of the existing theories are based on random utility theory,which takes the satisfaction brought by the completion of the transportation process as the connotation of transportation utility.However,demand has the first nature,and transportation demand exists independently before the realization of the travel process.Based on the theory of travel residual,the mechanism of transportation service mode selection is explained in a new way from the perspective of demand independence,based on this theory and combined with the characteristics of tourism travel,this paper studies the mechanism of transportation service mode selection of travelling,which has certain academic value and significance of practice.Based on the basic knowledge of transportation economics,tourism behavior and transportation demand theory,this paper firstly researched the theories related to the choice of travel transportation service mode of tourists,defined the concept,classified and studied the characteristics of tourism,tourists and travel transportation service mode,analyzed the factors affecting the choice of transportation service mode of tourists,conducted a comparative study of related theories,argued the applicability and advantages of travel residual theory,and the concept of travel surplus perception threshold was proposed to make up for the limited rationality deficiency of travel subjects.Secondly,according to the characteristics of tourism travel,this paper explored the connotation and characteristics of tourism travel value,and quantified the emotional value and tourist spatial behavior value that constitute tourism travel value.The tourism travel value under the timeliness of tourism demand and the consideration of travel subject’s difference was studied.Then,travel costs were measured in terms of both direct and indirect costs.Finally,this paper constructed a theoretical model of travel surplus for the choice of tourist travel and transportation services,determined the investigation method,and verified the accuracy and scientific of the model by using the "Xicheng" passenger transport corridor as an example.By the summary,the findings of this paper are as follows: first,the article shows that the value of tourism trips is directly related to the mode of travel service and the tourism resources available for the travel path.Second,travel surplus greater than zero is a necessary condition for tourists to choose to travel,while maximizing travel surplus is a sufficient condition.The article proposes that tourism travel value contains emotional value and spatial behavior value,and quantifies tourism travel value and travel cost,and clarifies the mechanism of tourists’ travel choice of transportation service mode.Thirdly,the article shows that the theoretical and model applicability is high through the establishment of models and calculations,which is conducive to improving the accuracy of the study and judgment of the choice of transportation service mode for tourist passenger flow on the transportation corridor.
