The Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle has an important strategic position in the west of my country. In the past 10 years, the income of rural residents and the level of urbanization have been greatly improved. However, the large gap between urban and rural areas and the unbalanced development among cities in the region are still prominent. For example, the urban-rural income ratio of most cities exceeds 2:1.In terms of urbanization rates,Chengdu and Chongqing have relatively high urbanization rates, while other cities are relatively low. Therefore, how to coordinate the development of urban and rural areas in the region, and how to coordinate rural revitalization and new urbanization strategies is a problem that needs to be solved at present. Therefore,it is very important to explore the development status of new-type urbanization and rural revitalization, and to study the coupling and coordinated development, dynamic change characteristics and influencing factors of coupling coordination between the two.In this context, this paper takes the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle as the research object, first selects indicators to build an evaluation system, and uses the entropy method to calculate the weight of each indicator. Then measure the development level of each city in the region from 2011 to 2020,and analyze its changes and spatial differentiation characteristics of each city.On this basis, using the coupling coordination model, spatial visualization, kernel density estimation analysis method, and Markov chain analysis method, the level of coupling coordination between the two major systems of rural revitalization and new urbanization and the spatial differentiation and evolution characteristics of each city are analyzed. And study the dynamic evolution and state transition trend of coupling coordination development. Then, through the establishment of OLS and GWR models, the effect and spatial differentiation of the influencing factors of the coupling coordination degree are studied. The results show that:(1)The level of rural revitalization in each city has steadily increased over the past decade, and the spatial differentiation between cities has gradually decreased;the level of new-type urbanization has also improved significantly, but there is still considerable spatial differentiation.(2)The degree of coupling coordination between the two systems has increased year by year.By 2020,all cities had reached "good" or higher levels, and the kernel density curve had gradually transformed from "fat-short" to "thin-tall".(3)Through analysis with OLS and GWR models,it was found that the factors affecting the degree of coupling coordination are most strongly influenced by population distribution and transportation facilities, and the effects of these factors show spatial heterogeneity. Finally, this paper proposes the following suggestions:(1)Each city should increase investment and construction efforts for rural revitalization, keeping pace with the development of new-type urbanization.(2)Local characteristic advantageous agricultural products should be explored and cultivated to form a scale industry.(3)To avoid future urban-rural development imbalances,it is recommended that each city strengthens transportation infrastructure and modernizes agriculture.(4)Cities with relatively high influence coefficients on industrial structure, such as Ya’an,Chengdu, and Leshan, should strengthen the construction of the primary industry and increase its proportion.(5)Cities with large absolute values of the coefficient affecting the urban-rural income gap, such as Mianyang,Nanchong, and Dazhou, should work harder to narrow the urban-rural income gap.
