| Feline lower urinary tract disease(FLUTD)is a term with a broad meaning.All diseases of the cat involving the bladder and urethra can be called FLUTD.The clinical manifestations mainly include frequent urination,painful urination,hematuria,dysuria,frequent licking of genital organs and other symptoms.Sometimes one or more clinical manifestations can occur.When these clinical symptoms appear,the differential diagnosis that should be considered includes urolithiasis,bacterial infection,urinary tract tumor and congenital anatomical structure abnormality.When the exact cause cannot be diagnosed,it is usually called feline idiopathic cystitis(FIC).There are many causes of cat lower urinary tract syndrome.In addition to their own factors such as gender,age,BCS(body condition score),sterilization or castration,they are also related to factors such as season,living environment and dietary structure.The clinical symptoms of cat lower urinary tract syndrome caused by different reasons are also different,and the treatment methods are also different.In this experiment,the clinical cases of cat lower urinary tract syndrome in a pet hospital of a brand in five representative areas of Shenzhen,including Nanshan District,Bao’an District,Futian District,Luo hu District and Long gang District,in 2021 were selected as the research objects.The incidence of cat lower urinary tract syndrome was systematically investigated,and the treatment experiments were carried out on typical clinical cases to obtain comprehensive measures to prevent the disease,To provide a basis for comprehensively mastering the incidence of cat lower urinary tract syndrome and the prevention and treatment of the disease.According to the experimental results,535 clinical cases were collected for statistical analysis.Among them,312 cases of cats aged 2-4 years were the most,accounting for 58.3% of the total cases;There were 347 male cats,accounting for 64.9% of the total cases,and 188 female cats,accounting for 35.1% of the total cases;487 cats were sterilized and castrated,accounting for 91% of the total cases,and 48 cats were not sterilized and castrated,accounting for 8.9% of the total cases;There were 211 cats with BCS at 4-6,accounting for 39.4% of the total cases,and 318 cats with BCS at 7-9,accounting for59.4% of the total cases;Among the time of onset,the number of cases was the highest in December,accounting for 81 cases,accounting for 15.1% of the total number of cases,followed by January,accounting for 66 cases,accounting for 12.3% of the total number of cases.The number of cases was the lowest in July,accounting for 20 cases,only 3.7% of the total number of cases.In the treatment experiment of idiopathic cystitis,the effective rate of the combination of anti stress drugs and bladder mucosal repair drugs was 100%.In the treatment experiment of bacterial cystitis,the effective rate of antibiotics after drug sensitivity test was 90%.In the treatment experiment of urolithiasis,the effective rate of surgical treatment was about 96.7%.Clinically,male cats often suffer from obstructive diseases such as urolithiasis,while female cats often suffer from non obstructive diseases such as idiopathic cystitis and bacterial cystitis.For cats suffering from non obstructive diseases,conservative treatment such as catheterization,feeding professional prescription food for urinary tract,and improving feeding and management methods are often used;In addition to routine catheterization,cats with obstructive diseases can also be treated surgically.For example,cats with bladder stones can be treated with cystotomy,cats with urethral stones can be treated with urethrotomy,and cats with repeated catheterization can not be completely cured can be treated with urethrostomy.For cats with health risks,especially elderly cats,there may be a risk of abnormal metabolism of narcotic drugs,and the operation will cause greater damage to the body of the cat.Therefore,when selecting the treatment scheme,it is necessary to accurately judge the severity of the disease of the cat,and then select the appropriate treatment scheme. |
