| Vocational colleges across the nation have responded by actively improving their teaching content,teaching means,and teaching methods since the promulgation of the "Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of Modern Vocational Education".As part of vocational education system in China,secondary vocational education plays an important role in providing the necessary talent to higher education and in providing manpower for the society.Thus,it is especially important to study how to optimize teaching methods,enhance the ability of middle school students to combine theory and practice,and promote the comprehensive development of secondary vocational students in order to improve the quality of secondary vocational education.The teaching method of Plant Protection in secondary vocational schools has a significant impact on preparing professional talent in agricultural secondary vocational colleges.The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of the case teaching method for teaching Plant Protection in secondary vocational schools.To begin with,this study investigated the current situation of students by using the questionnaire survey method to examine the current student situation regarding Plant Protection,it showed that the students had some problems in their learning:poor study habits,did not realize the importance of the course,and problems integrating what they have learned.In order to address these issues,the case teaching method is blended with the educational objectives,content and structure of the Plant Protection course to provide a solid factual basis for applying the case teaching method.Then,based on the analysis of the curriculum,students and teaching methods in the early stage,the curriculum design of Plant Protection based on case teaching method was constructed.Furthermore,we conducted case teaching in X secondary vocational school in Xiaogan City,and demonstrated the specific application process with the content of "Rice Blast".Lastly,a questionnaire and an interview are used to assess the results of the case teaching approach.Results of the study indicate that students are satisfied with the application of case teaching methods in Plant Protection,and they are more active in class and enthusiastic about what they are learning,as well as improving their ability to combine theory with practice and optimize the teaching effect in Plant Protection,so using case teaching methods can enhance students’ ability to combine theory with practice and maximize classroom impact.In this study,literature research,questionnaire survey,and interview surveys are used as primary research instruments,and we used the case teaching method through teaching Plant Protection in secondary vocational.In addition,by conducting research on secondary vocational schools,we hope to provide a resource for front-line teachers. |
