Wugang Tong Goose is a local goose breed mainly produced in Wugang City,Hunan Province.It grows fast,has delicious meat,and is rich in minerals and amino acids.But the current scale of Wugang Tong Goose Chemical aquaculture is in a"stuck neck"period as affected with it’s poor egg performance.Huoyan Goose is one of the small breeds of white Chinese goose and is known for its excellent egg laying performance.This study aims to understand the hybridization effect of Wugang Tong Goose and Huoyan Goose,and provide scientific basis for the improvement and breeding of the local breed Wugang Tong Goose.The test selects 36 28-day-old Wugang Tong Geese and Huowu F1 generation(with the same feeding and management level from 1 day old,male:female=1:2),the growth performance,slaughter performance,nutrient metabolism rate and serum index were determined and analyzed.The diet design was formulated according to the nutritional requirements of the meat geese recommended by the NRC(1994).The test period was 56days.The results showed:1)Compared to Wugang Tong Goose,Huowu F1 generation has hybrid advantages in growth and slaughter performance.Before 7 weeks of age,Huowu F1 generation weight and shin length were smaller than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01),with the growth and development of the body,there was no significant difference in weight between the two at 8weeks of age(P>0.05),and 10 weeks of age the tibia length of Huowu F1 generation was significantly longer than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01),For Huowu F1,the rate of breast muscle and leg muscle was higher than Wugang Tong Goose at 12 weeks of age(P>0.05),and the abdominal fat rate was extremely significantly lower than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01).2)The nutrient metabolism rate,digestion and immune organ index of Wugang Tong Goose improved with a certain extent by crossing with Huoyan Goose.The nutrient metabolism rate of Huowu F1 generation on crude fat nutrient metabolism rate is extremely significant(P<0.01);The segment weight and length are larger than Wugang Tong Goose for each intestine of Huowu F1 generation at 12 weeks old.Among them,there is a significant difference in ileum weight between the two(P<0.05),and the difference in rectal weight and ileum length is extremely significant(P<0.01);The indexes of pancreas and immune organs were significantly higher than those of Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01)for 12-week-old Huowu F1 generation liver and glandular stomach.3)The serum ALP concentration of Huowu F1 generation was extremely significantly higher than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01),while other serum biochemical indicators were not significantly different(P>0.05);The serum GSH-Px,SOD and T-AOC level in the Huowu F1 generation of 8 and 12 weeks old were extremely significantly higher than that of Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01),the serum CAT level of 8-week-old was extremely significantly higher than that of Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01),and the serum MDA level of 12-week-old was extremely significantly lower than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01);the serum GH and IGF-1 concentrations of both were increased at 12 weeks of age compared with those at 8 weeks of age.The serum GH concentration of Huowu F1 generation at 8weeks of age was significantly higher than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.05).At 12 weeks of age,it was significantly higher than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01);the serum IGF-Ⅰconcentration of Huowu F1 generation was higher than Wugang Tong Goose at 8,12 weeks of age,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).4)The ovarian structure and function of Huowu F1 generation are better than Wugang Tong Goose.Compared with the Wugang Tong Goose;the Huowu F1 generation of ovarian cortex developed earlier and better,and the medulla structure and follicle distribution were more compact;the serum reproductive hormone concentrations of both were increased at the age of 12 weeks compared with that at the age of 8 weeks,and the difference between the two was increased.The serum FSH,E2and P4concentrations of the Huowu F1 generation at12 weeks of age were significantly higher than the Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01);in terms of the expression levels of genes related to ovarian follicle development,the expression of FSHR,GDF9,CYP17 and CYP19 genes in the Huowu F1 generation ovarian were increased(P>0.05)compared with Wugang Tong Goose,and the expression of Caspase3 gene in the ovary showed a downward trend.5)Huowu F1 generation liver yolk precursor substance synthesis ability is better than Wugang Tong Goose.Both the levels of VLDL and VTG in the liver and serum at 12 weeks of age were higher than those at 8 weeks of age.The levels of serum VTG,liver VLDL and VTG of Huowu F1 generation at 12 weeks of age were significantly higher than those of Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01);With the increase of age,the expression levels of hepatic yolk precursor substance synthesis-related genes,the expression of MTP and Apo B m RNA in the liver of was increased,and the expression of Apo B gene in the liver of Huowu F1generation at the age of 8 weeks was significantly higher than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.05),the expression of MTP gene at 12 weeks of age was significantly higher than Wugang Tong Goose(P<0.01).In summary,the Huowu F1 generation retains the better growth performance,slaughter performance,nutrient digestion and absorption characteristics of Wugang Tong Goose,while its ovarian development and liver yolk precursor substance synthesis ability have been improved,showing good heterosis performance.
