As an indispensable and important part of agricultural production,pesticides play an irreplaceable role in controlling various crop diseases and pests and ensuring stable and increased grain production.However,this has also caused farmers to increase their dependence on pesticides in agricultural production,making China’s pesticide application intensity rank first in the world,far exceeding the "optimal dosage" in the economic sense,and it is urgent to promote pesticide reduction.Therefore,how to improve the level of scientific drug use and further promote pesticide reduction and efficiency has become a key issue on the road to sustainable agricultural development.Starting from the "strengthening of agricultural aviation construction" proposed in the No.1 document of the Central Committee in 2015,to the issuance of the "Action Plan for Zero Growth in Pesticide Use by 2020" issued by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2015,all of them reflect China’s guidance for eliminating traditional spraying tools and vigorously promoting the application of UAV application technology in the field of agricultural production,which is also an important measure to help the development of ecological agriculture in China.China’s agricultural production is facing many serious problems,one of which is the deterioration of the ecological environment caused by excessive pesticide input,so the promotion of pesticide reduction has become one of the important measures to promote the green and sustainable development of agriculture.As the main body of production activities,farmers’ pesticide application behavior directly determines the application intensity of pesticides,so a more in-depth study of farmers’ application behavior will help guide farmers to achieve pesticide reduction application in the production process.Based on the data of 455 rice farmers in Jiangxi Province,this paper constructs OLS,2SLS,PSM and other research methods,discusses the influence of plant protection drones on the application intensity of farmers from the micro level,and studies the effects of three factors: age,business scale and differentiation on the heterogeneity of application intensity of farmers.The results showed that:(1)whether or not unmanned plant protection machine was used to apply pesticides had a significant negative impact on the application intensity of farmers,and the pesticide application intensity of farmers using UAV was 24.5% lower than that of unused farmers,and the pesticide reduction effect of unmanned plant protection machines was significant.(2)The analysis of the heterogeneity of farmers showed that the application reduction effect of UAV application in elderly farmers was significant,and the reduction effect of UAV application in large-scale operation was significant.Therefore,it is proposed to optimize the promotion channels of plant protection UAVs,improve the intensification of rice planting,carry out professional training for rice farmers in the use of UAVs,vigorously support the research and development of plant protection UAV technology,and improve the industry standard system of plant protection UAVs.
