Cotton is an important economic crop in China.At present,the level of mechanization of cotton has been continuously improved,and the machine-harvested rate has been steadily increasing.In the process of transportation and storage after picking,the compression and packing of loose seed cotton can effectively solve the problems such as inconvenient transportation and storage and increased cost.At present,the advanced picking and packing integrated cotton picker on the market has realized the one-step completion of harvesting,compression and packing,but there are still a large number of scattered cotton pickers,which can not achieve the packaging demand.This thesis finished the design and research of the traction baler packaging device regarding the seed cotton after harvested as the operating object.In the comprehensive consideration of the analysis of the Xinjiang region’s demand for seed cotton packaging operations and the material and physical characteristics of the seed cotton itself,the machine-harvested seed cotton packaging process was analyzed and designed.Combined with theoretical analysis,three-dimensional modeling,and simulation analysis,the full factor test and response surface methods were used to design and optimize the working parameters and key components for the packaging device.Finally,the performance of the seed cotton packaging device was stable and reliable,and the packaging efficiency was improved.The main research contents of this thesis are as follows:(1)According to the physical and mechanical characteristics of seed cotton and the requirements of packaging operation,the required devices and process flow such as collecting cotton,discharging cotton,conveying,rolling forming,coating and unloading were determined.The forming principle and parameter design process of the inner winding belt packaging device were expounded,and the three-dimensional model of the seed cotton packaging device was established.The key processes in the packaging device,including the process of cotton conveying and winding forming,are theoretically analyzed.Based on the force analysis of seed cotton in the process of cotton conveying,the motion equation of seed cotton was established and the key technical parameters of the conveying process were determined.The motion analysis of the winding process is carried out.The curve of the circular mold changing with time and the pressure control curve of the rocker arm were established.(2)The structural design and working load analysis of the key components such as the scraper conveyor,the cotton striking device and the conveying device in the cotton conveying device were carried out.The EDEM software was used to analyze the process of cotton discharge and transportation,and the movement process of seed cotton particles under the device was simulated.Through the full factor test,the influence law was analyzed and the optimization model was established by taking the linear velocity of the scraper chain surface and the speed of the cotton roller as the factors,and the mass flow rate and the standard deviation of the mass flow rate of the seed cotton as the indexes.The optimization results showed that the speed of the horizontal conveyor line of the seed cotton scraper chain was 1.0 m/s,the speed of the cotton striking roller was 260 r/min,the mass flow rate of the seed cotton was 10 kg/m~3,and the standard deviation of the mass flow rate was 0.67.(3)The frame,box and roller system in the forming device were designed.The modal analysis of the frame and the box was carried out by ANSYS software,and the critical condition of the resonance of the box and the frame was obtained,and the structural stability was verified,which met the requirements of dynamic characteristics.Four types of roller structures in the roller system were designed respectively.The mechanical analysis of the rocker arm structure was carried out to determine the maximum working load.The static analysis was carried out by ANSYS,and the result showed that the rocker arm met the structural strength under the maximum load.(4)Seed cotton packaging test verification.In order to verify the performance of the seed cotton packaging device,a prototype field experiment was carried out in the cotton field.The experimental results showed that the average packaging density was 231 kg/m~3,the average cotton bag weight was 2413 kg,and the average packing time is 7.47 min,which all met the performance requirements.
