With the proposal of the strategy of turning potatoes into staple crop.Yunnan Province,as the main potato planting area in China,is not suitable for large-scale harvesters due to its hilly and mountainous terrain,small and scattered fields,and cannot be planted continuously.The soil in Yunnan Province is clay,and there are few types of harvesters in small plots.Existing small-scale potato harvesters for clay cannot effectively separate potatoes from soil,which can easily lead to high potato damage rate after potato separation.Therefore,the existing potato harvesters in China cannot effectively separate potatoes from soil.This article focuses on the areas of Yunnan Province.The three-dimensional software SOLIDWORKS is used for modeling and analysis,and the discrete element simulation analysis software EDEM is used for simulation analysis and optimization.The optimal design parameters are determined through experimental research,this article is as follows:(1)Conducted on the development status of existing potato harvesters,and a potato soil separation device was designed for separable potatoes in clay areas.(2)Conduct physical and mechanical properties tests on potatoes.The triaxial size range,density,shear modulus,Poisson’s ratio and other indicators of potatoes were tested and measured,providing a theoretical basis for future research.(3)From the perspective of kinematics,the movement law of the potato soil mixture on the potato separation device was analyzed,and it was determined that the distance between the soil removal roller and the smooth roller,the device tilt angle,the rotation speed of the soil removal roller and the smooth roller were the main factors affecting the potato separation.(4)Analyze and study the potato soil separation device.Establish a discrete element simulation of the soil potato soil separation device between the soil removal roller and the light roller of 15.4-16.7mm,the inclination angle of the device of 7.8 °-8.6 °,and the rotation speed of the soil removal roller and the light roller of 97.4-106.3r/min.
