| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the upper 1/5 of the sensory area for the treatment of abnormal sensory symptoms of the lower limbs and insomnia in restless legs syndrome(RLS),and to provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of restless legs syndrome.Methods:Sixty-six patients who met the criteria for nadir were selected, and the patients were divided into a control group and a treatment group in a 1:1 ratio according to the chronological order of the first visit using the random number table method, with 33 patients in each group. In the control group, conventional acupuncture was used, referring to the treatment method of restless leg syndrome in Clinical Evidence of Acupuncture published by People’s Health Publishing House, taking the Zusanli(ST3 6),Yanglingquan(GB3 4),Xuanzhong(GB39),Sanyinj iao(SP6)and Taichong(LR3).In the treatment group, the upper 1/5 of bilateral sensory areas were combined with acupuncture on the basis of the control group, once a day, five times for one course of treatment, for a total of four courses of treatment. The International Restless Legs Syndrome Scale(IRLS),Restless Legs Syndrome Quality of Life Questionnaire(RLSQoL),and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores were observed before and after treatment in the two groups, respectively, and the clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated and compared according to the scores of each group, and the data obtained were statistically analyzed using the SPSS26.0 software.Results:1.IRLS scale scores:the intergroup comparison of IRLS scores between the two groups of patients before treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05)and could be compared;after treatment, the IRLS scores of patients in both groups showed a significant decrease compared with the same group before treatment(P<0.05),but the degree of decrease was greater in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).2.PSQI scale scores:the PSQI scores of patients in both groups before treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05)for comparison between groups;after treatment, the PSQI scores of patients in both groups decreased significantly(P<0.05)compared with the same group before treatment, but the decrease was greater in the treatment group(P<0.05).3.RLSQoL scale scores:the intergroup comparison of RLSQoL scores of patients in both groups before treatment had no statistical significance(P>0.05)and could be compared;after treatment, the RLSQoL scores of patients in both groups were significantly higher(P<0.05)compared with the same group before treatment, but the increase was greater in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).4.Clinical efficacy comparison:5 cases were clinically cured,16 cases were apparently effective,9 cases were effective, and 2 cases were invalid in the treatment group, with a total effective rate of 93.75%;2 cases were clinically cured,10 cases were apparently effective,14 cases were effective, and 6 cases were invalid in the control group, with a total effective rate of 81.25%.The difference in efficacy between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture in the upper 1/5 of the sensory area with conventional acupuncture method and conventional acupuncture method can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of abnormal sensation in the lower extremities of RLS patients, and improve the quality of sleep and quality of life of patients, with definite efficacy.2.The clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the upper 1/5 of the sensory area with conventional acupuncture method is better than that of conventional acupuncture method, and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application. |
