This research builds a conceptual model of highly Information Communication Technology demands induced workplace cyber incivility based on several resource-related theories. That is,the stress experience brought by the use of ICT makes it difficult for employees to psychologically detach from work, which in turn caused emotional exhaustion and eventually made a chain effect on workplace cyber incivility. In addition, the mitigation role of job autonomy and cognitive reappraisal as two important work and personal resources are also examined. In order to ensure the reliability and validity of research scale and the validity of the research results,we conducted a strict reliability and validity analysis on 79 prediction questionnaires in a small sample pre-study(Study 1)to revise each scale. In a formal study(Study 2),SPSS and AMOS were used to perform regression analysis and structural equation model test on 613 valid data to verify theoretical assumptions, and analyzed the characteristics of participants’ workplace cyber incivility and their demographic differences. The results showed that:(1)ICT demands can positively predict the frequency of employees’ workplace cyber incivility;(2)ICT demands affect workplace cyber incivility through the independent mediation effect of psychological detachment and emotional exhaustion,as well as the chain mediation effect of psychological detachment and emotional exhaustion";(3)job autonomy negatively moderates the relationship between psychological detachment and workplace cyber incivility, while cognitive reappraisal positively moderates the relationship between emotional exhaustion and workplace cyber incivility. Finally,on the basis of discussing the limitations of this research, the research directions that can be expanded in the future are proposed. The results of this study with theoretical significance can also provide practical and feasible suggestions for organizations to prevent and intervene workplace cyber incivility.
