Research On The Visual Image Of Cats In Illustrations

About 14,000 years ago,humans began the history of domesticating animals,and the relationship between humans and animals became closer.As the relationship gradually deepens,people endow animals with more emotional connotations,and animals become people’s spiritual sustenance and emotional dependence.At first cats came into people’s field of vision due to their excellent mouse-catching skills,and now they have become one of the most popular domestic pets.There are many artists who are companions with cats and have emotional connections with cats.The unique spirituality of cats also attracts the attention of artists.In the end,the art world took the image of cats as the theme of artistic creation to express the artist’s perception of life and release of inner emotions.This thesis studies the visual image of cats in art works,analyzes the artistic concept and emotional value expressed by the artist through portraying the image of cats,and explores and thinks about the creation of print illustrations of "Hei Niu".The print illustration of "Hei Niu" is inspired by the author’s unique experience in the process of growing up,and the work incorporates print art and illustration art.The author uses the cat that lived together in childhood as a visual image to narrate the past events of childhood and express the author’s nostalgia for the past of childhood.The work is not only a combination of printmaking and illustration art,but also promotes the innovative development of cat-themed art forms.This thesis firstly expounds the reasons for the topic selection,research significance,research content and methods,and research status at home and abroad;secondly,through the work analysis method,it analyzes the expression method of the cat image created by the artist,and understands the relationship between the artist and the cat behind the picture.Emotional connection;then discuss the influence and inspiration of my relationship with cats and the study of cat visual images on the author.Finally,it expounds the content and concept of the print illustration creation of "Hei Niu",and analyzes the practical process of the print illustration creation of "Hei Niu".This thesis expounds the author’s practical research on the visual image of cats in the creation of print illustrations.
