This report,based on The International Political Economy of Oil and Gas(Chapters 2-3)and guided by the text typology theory,analyses the textual characteristics of the source language from text type,text genre,text style,and target readers.It discusses the translation principles of accuracy,conciseness,and readability to solve problems of reshaping translation in the target language through case studies.In order to make the target language accurate,concise,and understandable,the report proposes translation strategies and techniques in oil trade informative texts to elucidate terminologies and pronouns under accuracy by amplification;to refine the names of institutions and sentences based on conciseness by omission and conversion;to clarify implicit logical relations in accordance with readability by adaptation and division.Besides,this report not only demonstrates the value of text typology theory in oil trade informative texts,but also provides a reference for translators in oil trade informative texts translation.
