Moire,as a traditional Chinese decorative pattern,is frequently applied in various art scenes and is exquisitelyinterpreted with the development and evolution of art.Dunhuang moire,as a type of decorative pattern,mainly sets off the picture and scene,but it has different artistic characteristics and styles in different periods.This paper takes moire in Dunhuang frescoes as the research object and probes into their personalized characteristics in different periods.This paper consists of four parts:First,from the historical perspective,it combs the inheritance relationship between the moire and the traditional moire in Dunhuang frescoes.Second,the analysis of Dunhuang moire in different periods of the modeling characteristics and artistic features.Thirdly,from the perspective of pattern science and semiotics,the expression and form characteristics of moire decoration in Dunhuang fresco are analyzed,and the decorative combination expression between moire and other elements in the fresco is discussed and the formal mechanism of moire is established.Fourth,take the aesthetic connotation of Dunhuang murals moire as the object of aesthetic feeling to analyze its aesthetic characteristics,explore their value orientation and personalized characteristics.The development and evolution of Dunhuang fresco moire is influenced by both natural geographical environment and social and cultural environment.It shows the aesthetic emotional value dominated by Buddhism and reflects the artistic interest and aesthetic ideal of people in different times.The aesthetic value of Dunhuang moires is based on the narrative implication of murals in different times,which is embodied in the following aspects: from the illusory and lively and pulsating miserable world in the Northern and Southern Dynasties,to the free and colorful illusory singing in the Sui and Tang Dynasties,to the secular flatness and schematism in the Song and Yuan Dynasties of the Five Dynasties.They show two aesthetic characteristics,the rational beauty of reconstructing nature and the religious beauty beyond the present world.At the same time,as a kind of cultural symbol,they have the function of guiding consciousness beyond practical thought and triggering emotional identification.
