| With the deepening constantly of economic globalization, the connection between China and the world is getting closer.Tourism texts with both informative and vocative functions are important carriers for promoting Chinese culture and showing the world China’s image. Therefore, the translation of tourism texts has become a hot research topic in China translation field.Eco-translatology was proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen of Tsinghua University. This theory introduces ecological concepts into the field of translation research and provides theoretical support for it.Eco-translatology focuses on the translator and makes the translator a true master of translation. In Ecological translatology, translators are given a specific definition and their creativity is fully affirmed. In translation activities, translators have the dual identities of adaptation and selection,so translators needs to make selective adaptation and adaptive selection according to needs. In view of this, under the guidance of Eco-translatology,this thesis explores the translation strategies of tourism texts from three aspects, that is,translator centeredness, selective adaptation and adaptive selection, with the aim to verify the feasibility of Eco-translatology in guiding the translation research of tourism texts, and providing certain reference for similar translation practices. This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces four parts, which are research background, research purpose, research methods and thesis structure.Chapter two provides a review of the literature on Eco-translatology and tourism text translation.Chapter three is a detailed interpretation of the development process and main concepts of Eco-translatology.Chapter four makes a comprehensive analysis of tourism texts’ features. This chapter consists of two parts, which are an analysis of the tourism texts’ general features and an analysis of the linguistic features of selected texts from lexical, syntactic and rhetoric aspects. As the core chapter, the fifth chapter mainly elaborates the guidance of Eco-translatology to the tourism texts translation from the perspective of translator centeredness, selective adaptation and adaptive selection, and digs out the translation methods of tourism texts. From the studies of this chapter, the following conclusions are drawn: Under the guidance of the translator-centeredness,adopting the translation methods of transliteration with annotation and addition for cultural-loaded words can effectively preserve cultural features and make up for cultural gaps;Under the guidance of selective adaptation, the translation methods of omission and division for four-character structures and long sentences can adapt to the translation ecological environment;Under the guidance of adaptive selection, adopting the methods of literal translation and free translation for rhetoric sentences and verses respectively can achieve the transformation of linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions. The sixth chapter is the conclusion of the thesis, which mainly includes the main findings, limitation and suggestions. |
