The economic globalization has boosted the global development of tourism,which makes the importance of tourism websites increasingly prominent.The tourism websites have become a new type of tourism information platform through the network,providing sufficient information and more reasonable methods of management.Visitors can get an introduction on attractions,information on accommodations and transportation,as well as travel guides and travel reviews on the websites.Since tourism resources have been effectively integrated through tourism websites,tourism websites are more popular than the traditional tourism companies with print advertising or other forms of publicity.Therefore,many tourism companies have begun to establish their websites to publicize,to attract tourists,to strengthen their bilingual and even multilingual construction,and to conduct the translation activities of the texts from the tourism websites to win more visitors both at home and abroad.TripAdvisor,one of the largest tourism websites in the world,has substations in 49 markets around the world.Visitors from different countries and regions visit it an average of 415 million per month.It provides travelers with the wisdom of the crowds to help them decide to choose the destinations and their information which includes where to stay,how to fly,what to do and where to eat.Facing such overwhelming information and a large number of visitors,the quality of translation for tourism websites needs to be improved.Eco-translatology is an interdisciplinary study of translation through the combination of ecology and translatology.It is a new theory of translation first put forward by Professor Hu Gengshen and it has strong explanatory power.Eco-translatology focuses on the subjectivity of the translator,which regards the translation process as the “adaptation and selection” of the translator to different ecological environments,and emphasizes the “adaptive selection” and “selective adaptation” of translation.Only when the translator makes selective adaptation to the translational eco-environment of the source text,can the adaptive selection of the target text be made.“Three-dimensional transformation” as the method of eco-translatology,mainly guides and studies the texts from the linguistic,cultural and communicative dimension.At present,eco-translatology is widely used in the practical translation.Some scholars have introduced it into their tourism translation to guide the translation of tourism texts.Therefore,this thesis analyzes TripAdvisor's text-translation under the guidance of eco-translatology.According to the function and particularity of website texts,the “three-dimensional transformation” in TripAdvisor's translation is analyzed from the perspective of eco-translatology.Through research,this thesis comes to the conclusion that translators should actively adapt to the translational eco-environment and make “adaptation and selection” according to the text function and the particularity of the text,so as to improve the quality of text-translation of TripAdvisor.Thus,the service capacity of the tourism websites has been upgraded,more tourists have been attracted,and the purpose of overseas publicity and communication of culture can be achieved.
