The Study And Exploration Of Expression Figurative Painting

From the professional academic noun definition of expression figurative painting,the thesis clearly sorts out expression figurative painting’s definition and its artistic concept,and focuses on clarifying this concept and personal exploration and practice.The thesis’ research scope is mainly based on the research and exploration achievements of domestic scholars after the introduction of expression figurative paintings into China in the 1990 s.Expression figurative expression is a a method of representation in painting.It integrates the method and theory of phenomenology,explores the construction of visual patterns,reveals the basic meaning of painting art,and shows its guiding significance as a painting method system at the two interfaces of philosophical contemplation and visual inquiry.There are four chapters in this thesis.After clarifying the concept of expression figurative painting,along the track of Alberto Giacometti’s exploration,the author takes the exploration results of the second generation of representational painters(such as Antonio Lopez-Garcia and Sam Szafran)as examples to verify and sort out the concept of academic research.Under the influence of the idea of expression figurative painting,the author begins to explore his own creation: from the establishment of new visual pattern to the transformation of canvas,the author gradually forms his personal painting theory.Then,taking personal practice theory(which combined with masters’ experience)as guiding method,phased practical results as section,creation works as examples,the author expounds his personal creation process and painting discovery from the superficial to the complex,striving to explore more possibilities in expression figurative painting.
