Strategies For Confronting The Influencing Factors Of Faithfulness In Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Based On The Skopos Theory

The ideological and political course “Welcome to China Space Station” is launched by CNTV.The class of CNTV invited several young experts of Shenzhou 14,including the zero commander,the overall designer of rocket structure,the spacecraft experts,and astronaut instructors,to gather at Dongfeng Aerospace Center,presenting a significant China’s manned spaceflight theme course.Aerospace,as one of the important strategic supporting industries and strategic emerging industries of the country,is of great significance to the national development and the promotion of international status.Through the interpreting practice,we can also show the world our aerospace spirit of abilities to endure hardship,to fight,to tackle key problems and to contribute,thus deepening the international influence of Chinese culture and national spirit.Based on the Skopos Theory,this simulated consecutive interpreting practice report focuses on the faithfulness of interpreting.According to the knowledge of principles of the theory and various standards of faithfulness,it explores various factors that may affect the faithfulness of the output in the process of consecutive interpreting,analyzes the problems,and proposes targeted solutions.The influencing factors found can be roughly divided into three categories: the frequent occurrence of cultural information,the fuzzy logic relations and the unnecessary information redundancy.Through further understanding of the theory of faithfulness in interpreting,targeted solutions have been proposed to solve the above problems,including extracting core content,properly expanding and describing,adjusting the order of main information,properly adding objects,omitting and integrating.Through the simulated interpreting,the interpreter analyses the influencing factors and targeted solutions,finding that the standards of faithfulness depend not only on accuracy,but also on integrity,fluency and timeliness.The practice can provide certain reference for future interpreting in related fields as well.
