| Baoding Mountain Stone carvings,located in Dazu District of Chongqing Municipality,are one of the important representatives of Buddhist grotto statues in Song Dynasty China.Among them,religious statues and secular scenes coexist in the20 th Niche of Baoding stone carving in the hell,which is full of strong religious flavor."Hell Change" from Buddhist sutras to frescoes to powder books and stone statues has realized the transformation from literary language to artistic language,that is,the media it carries has completed the leap from text to image,and has also reached a certain height in image narrative.The narrator has a purpose and consideration in choosing the text story when creating the hell-morphing sculpture image.The image of hell-morphing theme carries the concept of religious thought to persuade viewers to educate.The fusion and connection between image and text have formed a special narrative form and function.The narrative mode of mutual construction of text and text has influenced the pictorial expression of religious texts by later artists.In this paper,the subject of fine arts is taken as the standard,and the image of Hell disguised sculpture in the twentieth Niche of Baoding Stone is taken as the research object,and the graphic narration of hell disguised sculpture image is studied by the research methods of imagology and narratology.Through graphic analysis and narrative analysis,this paper clarifies the narrative characteristics of the hell morphing sculpture image carved in Baoding Stone.It is divided into four parts.The first chapter is the related overview of the hell variant carved in Baoding Stone,and the second chapter is the analysis of the sculpture image and text content of the hell variant carved in Baoding Stone.Study the position relation of the hell disguised sculpture image;Interpret the image and text content,compare and analyze the similarities and differences between the plot of the image and the context of the story,and analyze the composition,modeling and artistic style of the hell variant sculpture image carved in Baoding Stone.The third chapter is the narrative analysis of Baoding stone carved hell disguised sculpture,using the theory of imagology and narratology to analyze the similarities and differences between text and image narrative methods,text plot and image paraphrasing and other issues for in-depth discussion.The fourth part discusses the spatial narrative features of the disguised hell carved in Baoding stone.The conclusion part mainly summarizes the thesis,reflects on the significance and value of the images of hell change theme and Baoding stone sculpture for the study of Chinese art history,and looks forward to the possibility direction and development of future research on Baoding stone sculpture image. |
