| Shen Liao was a famous calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty,with excellent documents,and enjoyed a high reputation in the calligraphy world at that time.Although Shen Liao did not have a great reputation in the history of calligraphy,we cannot therefore deny Shen Liao’s contribution to the prosperity of the "Shang Yi" style of calligraphy in the Song Dynasty,or the impact his calligraphy had on the development of the "Shang Yi" style of calligraphy.Based on previous studies,this article conducts a study of Shen Liao and his calligraphy in order to better understand the era of Shen Liao and the calligraphy world at that time.The first chapter discusses the origin and characteristics of Shen Liao’s calligraphy.Starting with the appearance of the calligraphy world in the early Northern Song Dynasty,the first section focuses on the development process of calligraphy in the Song Dynasty before Shen Liao’s birth,and then gradually transitions to the background and learning experience of Shen Liao’s life experience.During the period,it mentions Ouyang Xiu’s influence on the calligraphy world and Shen Liao at that time.The second section mainly describes the characteristics of Shen Liao’s calligraphy,starting from three aspects: being good at "running the brush",simple and ancient brushwork,and being clear and vigorous.The second chapter discusses Shen Liao’s thought of calligraphy,which includes intention in writing,calligraphy as a small skill,calligraphy as a combination of heart painting and calligraphy,and discusses it from these aspects.Explore his calligraphy thoughts and the reasons for their formation.The third chapter discusses Shen Liao’s calligraphy activities and contacts,mainly exploring the phenomenon of "calligraphy skirts",the collection of gold and stone activities,and their impact on the "Shangyi" style of calligraphy.The communication between Shen Liao and Wang Anshi,Mi Fu,and Su Shi is discussed in the communication section between Shen Liao and Mi Fu,which discusses the differences between Mi Fu’s "brush character" and Shen Liao’s "typesetting",with a view to better understanding Shen Liao’s calligraphy.The fourth chapter discusses Shen Liao’s calligraphy works,starting with ink and stone carving works,and examines the form and personnel involved in the works,with a view to demonstrating Shen Liao’s pen and ink characteristics and interpersonal communication. |
