Research On The Expression Of Light And Shadow In Urban Landscape Oil Painting

Light and shade have always been the most concerned with oil paintings.The subject of urban landscapes and light and shade,and the city in memory and light and shade,are used as the main themes of research to create and analyse the theory of light and shade.The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of light and shadow theory on the subject matter of oil painting.The author draws creative inspiration from the fixed topic of old urban architecture to delve into the expressions and forms of light and shadow in oil paintings of urban landscapes,and to explore the artistic charm of light and shadow in oil paintings of urban landscapes from the viewer’s perspective.In this thesis,we start a series of oil painting practice with the performance of light and shadow in urban landscape oil painting.The unique charm of light and shadow in cityscape oil paintings.Firstly,the author explores the application of light and shadow in painting during the Renaissance period from the concept of light and shadow,and analyses the expressive power and role of light and shadow in oil paintings of urban landscapes.By analysing the use of light and shade by different types of oil painters,I explore the techniques of light and shade to create the atmosphere of a picture and express personal emotions,from which the charm of art can be perceived.Secondly,the author discusses the whole process of taking ideas,sketching and color training.In addition,by depicting the different light and shadow changes and effects of light and shadow in the old town at morning,noon and evening,the author also closely combines the old town architecture with the longing for a better life in the future,trying to express the real world in which the old and the new blend together in the picture,enhancing the spiritual expression of the picture and expressing the author’s deep emotion for the old town and his longing for a better life.During the creation of this oil painting,I realized that the expression of light and shadow in urban landscape oil painting is not only a means to depict objective nature,but also a part of the form of the picture,borrowing the expression of light and shadow to set off the emotional elements of the subject,and explaining that the use of light and shadow in creation can promote the formation of a diversified and unique artistic style of urban landscape oil painting subject matter.
