The ancients believed that "cat" is a homonym to "decreta",so the cat is a symbol of auspiciousdecreta and longevity. Therefore,in the paintings of the Song Dynasty, there were a wide range of paintings with the theme of beaver slave.Through literature description and image sorting, this paper examines and identifies the origin and evolution of the image of "beaver slave" in the paintings of the two Song Dynasties, and studies the background of the beaver slave themed paintings of the two Song Dynasties. It is believed that the reason why bladderman-themed paintings appeared in the Song Dynasty was mainly because bladderman-themed paintings had the practical function of "exterminating rats" and the symbolic meaning of "auspiciousness".Bladderman-themed paintings were also deeply loved by the court nobles and scholars of the two Song dynasties.By combing the preserved works of the two Song Dynasty paintings with the theme of beaver slave,it can be divided into panoramic,man-book and hand-scroll form in terms of composition. In different picture layout management, the image of beaver slave also shows different artistic characteristics. At the same time, through the summary of the expression forms of the images of beaver slaves in the related images,it is found that in the works of the painters of the two Song Dynasties, the images of beaver slaves are different because of their usual expression words. For example,in terms of color rendering, there are "colorful painting" and "simple Fu CAI";in terms of brush handling, there are "paint-driven" and "ink road is only fine";and in terms of image and physique,It can also be divided into "pattern writing" and "countryside fun".The different forms of expression reflect the painter and the audience’s emotional attachment to "Beaver slave" itself. Therefore,in the notes of the literati of the two Song Dynasties and the literature and archaeological data unearthed in recent years, the beaver slave presents different cultural implications and social functions in different social strata. For example, among the general public, the beaver slave mainly has social practicability and the implication of auspiciousness and longevity. Therefore, folk customs such as "begging cat" and "cat contract style" appear. However, among the literati and aristocrats, the beaver slave is more expressed as a symbol of appreciation and identity,so in many beaver slave-themed paintings, the image of the beaver slave itself is mostly lazy and leisurely. In short, under the pen of the painters of the Song Dynasty, the paintings of slave slaves mainly present the beauty of civilized rites, the beauty of realistic and subtle forms, and the beauty of poetic naturalism.Based on the paintings of the Song Dynasty and the Song Dynasty, the research on the development of the paintings of the beaver slave theme can also be helpful to the current painting performance of the beaver slave theme.
