Since the 20th century.Sequential music composition techniques continue to develop in China.Thereinto.Linear truncated thinking not only broadens the creative method,but also continuously integrates and innovates on this basis,thus forming a new thinking of music creation.Mr.Chen Mingzhi’s paper "Polyphonic New Texture" and Mr Liu Yongping’s book "Modern Counterpoint and Its Fugue" both emphasize linear alignment and truncated counterpoint.Visible,Linear truncated thinking is used in sequential music composition.An important way of thinking in which music develops linearly.Chen Mingzhi’s "Eight Piano Pieces" is a classic that applies Chinese music elements to sequential musical works.The author analyzes the linear truncated thinking and Chinese musical elements in the work.The full text is divided into three parts around the characteristics of modern counterpoint.The first chapter is elaborated from three aspects:the pentatonic,polytonic and atonous aspects of linear truncated thinking.The second chapter discusses contingencies and acoustics in linear sequence alignment,mirror alignment,and acoustics.The third chapter discusses the use of sequences and the combination of voices to form truncated chords,tensions,and sequences in linear truncated sets.Sequential music uses rich materials and is conceived rigorously and logically to achieve the purpose of creation.Chen Mingzhi’s Eight Piano Pieces contain a huge structure and complete motivation in complexity,and present the characteristics of modern composition techniques with elements of Chinese music.On the basis of the results of theoretical research of predecessors,the author analyzes and summarizes the modern composition techniques contained in Chen Mingzhi’s "Eight Piano Pieces".
