In the situation of COVID-19 epidemic, most of the international summits are held from offline to online. On September 12,2021,the China-ASEAN Financial Expert Lecture Series was held in Huixue Hall of Guangxi University. The lecture invited a ChinaASEAN business expert and a senior business worker to speak on the theme of "ChinaASEAN Cooperation and Development Outlook".The event was broadcast live on the Internet platform, and the foreign audience listened to the English simultaneous interpretation content through the online broadcast platform. The author acted as the only interpreter for the lecture, and conducted simultaneous interpretation of the lecture content live overseas. After the meeting, the author used this interpretation task as the corpus to write this interpretation practice report. In the process of writing the report, the author analyzed and summarized the corpus from four aspects: "comprehension, memory, expression, and contingency" based on Li Changshuan’s UMEER framework in conjunction with Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory.First, the author introduces the details of the task, describing the details and specific requirements of the task;second, the author highlights the necessity of the preinterpretation preparation and feedback collection in the whole process of the task;then, based on the challenges encountered in the execution of the task, the author tries to analyze the factors affecting the quality of remote interpretation and proposes corresponding solutions. Finally, the author summarizes the paper in order to provide experience for future interpretation practice and colleagues who are interested in this field. In the process of analysis, the author found that subjective factors, such as the lack of pre-interpretation preparation, insufficient ability to respond on the spot, and objective factors such as improper work position and insufficient professional equipment affected the author’s understanding, memory, expression and emergency response on the spot, thus affecting the quality of interpretation. To address the above problems, the author proposes solutions such as multi-channel pre-interpreting preparation, knowledge accumulation, deliberate practice and pre-task communication. At the same time, the author hopes that this report can inspire future interpreters who undertake remote simultaneous interpretation tasks.
