Xiao Yin is not only a famous writer and literary critic in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature,but also an important editor.He devoted himself to the editing work of literary newspapers and periodicals for a long time,accumulated rich editing experience,and formed his personal editing thoughts and editing style.In this paper,the editor Xiao Yin’s editing practices of literary newspapers and periodicals in different periods are reviewed in chronological order,which not only focuses on the overall appearance of the newspapers and periodicals in different times contexts,but also selects representative editing cases to dig out the editorial thoughts and literary values in them.The introduction part mainly combs the research status of this subject,and on this basis makes clear the necessity and value significance of studying Xiao Yin’s editing practice of literary newspapers and periodicals.The first chapter takes Supplement of Jinchaji Daily(June 1946--October 10,1946)and Supplement of Jizhong Newspaper(December 1946--April 1947)edited by Xiao Yin as the research objects,and examines his practice of editing literary newspapers and periodicals in the Liberated Areas.The literary supplement of the Party newspaper compiled by Xiao Yin not only echoed the revolutionary theme needed by The Times,but also advocated miniaturized and popular literature combined with regional characteristics.It also attaches importance to the construction of ideological enlightenment,and promotes the discussion and exchange of thoughts with articles such as "miscellaneous feeling","casual feeling" and "Thoughts rambling".While giving full play to the wartime function of literature and art,Xiao Yin conducted literary exploration,guided literary criticism with the organic dialogue between creation and criticism,and promoted the confrontation of different views.Published a series of articles in Supplement of Jizhong Newspaper to popularize the theory of literature and art,and provided practical guidance for the authors.From the publication of Xu Guangyao’s first novel,to the publication of Bai Hua which a critic spanning two supplements,to the gathering of a group of literary warriors,he discovered and cultivated literary newcomers,and became the reserve army of Literary and artistic construction in the Liberated Areas and New China.The second chapter takes The Journal of Literary and Art(September 1949--January 1952)and People’s Literature(February 1952--June 1953)edited by Xiao Yin as the research objects,and examines his practice of editing literary newspapers and periodicals in Beijing.Xiao Yin improved the editor’s theoretical literacy and review ability with the requirement that "the manuscript must be reproduced",answer the specific questions in the column of "Read and talk" to guide the new writers.In the literature and art system in the early years of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,on the one hand,he cooperated with the national mainstream ideology to promote revolutionary literature,promote literary criticism and debate.On the other hand,"Literary creation Common sense" column of The Journal of Literary and Art is a representative of the popularization of the basic laws of literary creation.In People’s Literature,he edited and published "Bamboo Whistle" and "the Ringing of Bells in the Mountains and the Coming of Horses",promoting the literary appearance of Bai Hua;he Participated in the whole process of the publication,controversy and rectification of "Three Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains",cleared the atmosphere of literary criticism;when compiling a series of articles to commemorate the 10 th anniversary of "Speech",Kang Zhuo’s articles were ranked before Liu Qing’s,which reflects the firm and pragmatic editorial principle.The third chapter takes the Work edited by Xiao Yin(1962-1980)(renamed Literature and Art of Guangdong from 1972 to June 1978)as the research object,and examines his practice of editing literary newspapers and periodicals in Guangdong.the Work Magazine edited by Xiao Yin,showed different features in the growth,stripping and return of "literariness" at different stages before and after the "Cultural Revolution".During the period of transition from 1976 to 1979,he edited the series of literary creation "breaking the forbidden zone" and literary criticism "breaking the shackles",purged the distorted literary ideas of the "Gang of Four",and showed the "pioneer" attitude of breaking through the forbidden zone.In the "cold spring" period when the literary and art circles had not fully recovered,he edited and published the novel "The Most Precious",which promoted the comeback of Wang Meng.He published Chen Guokai’s "What Should I Do?" and carry out thematic discussions to maintain the growth of new literary forces;The publication of Bai Xianyong’s novel "Nostalgia for the Past" brought the new style of Taiwan and Hong Kong literature,showing a broad literary vision and open aesthetic character.The conclusion summarizes Xiao Yin’s editing practice of literary newspapers and periodicals in three periods,sorts out the connection between his editorial ideas and literary thoughts,and probes into the contribution of his editing practice to the development of modern and contemporary literature.
