Research On Chen Yan’s Novels From A Cross-Media Perspective

Chen Yan is one of the important writers in the contemporary Shaanxi literary scene,and compared with traditional writers,Chen Yan’s literature and growth path have more unique aspects.Chen Yan’s literary creation began with drama creation,and after having a lot of experience in drama writing and achieving outstanding achievements in the field of drama creation,he turned to fiction writing and achieved great success.At the same time,in recent years,film and television dramas adapted from Chen Yan’s novels have been successively put on the screen and have repeatedly become a hot spot in the ratings,and this adaptation and dissemination path from drama to novel to film and television has become a typical sample of cross-media practice of contemporary novels.This paper studies Chen Yan’s novel works from a cross-media perspective,and the full text is divided into four chapters: the first chapter sorts out the theoretical basis of the concept of "cross-media" and the cross-media performance of Chen Yan’s works;The second chapter focuses on the integration of the two media of "drama-novel" within Chen Yan’s works,and discusses the cross-media creative characteristics of Chen Yan’s novels.Chapter 3 summarizes in detail the communication path of Chen Yan’s works from drama to novel to film and television adaptation,and analyzes the adaptation and secondary interpretation of Chen Yan’s works by different media,taking "Xijing Story" and "Loading Stage" in Chen Yan’s works as examples.Chapter 4 comprehensively analyzes this cross-media phenomenon in Chen Yan’s novels,which inspires and reflects on the fields of modern writing and film and television adaptation.As an amphibious writer straddling both drama and fiction writing fields,Chen Yan’s cross-media character in his creation is related to his unique experience of the troupe,and his fiction works contain rich theatrical elements,but also receive profound influence from theatrical traditions,and always contain compassion and contemplation for the little people at the bottom,which is an important reason why Chen Yan’s works across multiple media can still impress the audience.The success of Chen Yan’s works in the creation and dissemination of various media fields has also brought experience and enlightenment to the innovative development and mass communication of novels in the new era.
