Feedback is an important mechanism for developing learners’ self-regulated learning abilities.With the continuous development of intelligent information technology,technology-based online self-regulated learning places higher demands on learners’ feedback-seeking abilities.Feedback-seeking behavior by learners emphasizes their proactive efforts to seek help from external sources,and it reflects their active engagement in seeking feedback.Therefore,feedback-seeking behavior is crucial for the development of learners’ self-regulated learning abilities.To explore whether technology can promote learners’ feedback seeking behavior,this paper constructed a model of learners’ technology-based feedback seeking behavior from the perspective of self-regulated learning.Based on this model,a scale for measuring learners’ feedback seeking behavior was developed.This study examined the existing state of feedback-seeking behavior and developed instructional strategies using the intelligent translation teaching platform at S University’s Key Laboratory of Multilingual Education with Artificial Intelligence(MEAI).The paper makes the following significant contributions:(1)A technology-based model of learner feedback seeking behavior was constructed based on relevant theories.Based on this model,the study revised the existing scale to form a new learner feedback seeking behavior questionnaire.By collecting and analyzing 534 valid questionnaires by SPSS,the paper obtained the differential results of technology’s impact on learners’ feedback seeking behavior,which serves as the basis for feedback seeking model revision and for the design of subsequent studies.(2)A research design based on the Key Laboratory of Multilingual Education with Artificial Intelligence at S university was conducted.The research utilizes the thinkaloud method to collect learners’ feedback pathways when using the platform.A coding table was designed based on the developed model to code and analyzed the data in teaching practices,and to investigate the impact of technology on learners’ feedback seeking behavior and its changes.(3)Based on the above-mentioned model,we conducted a specific case practice,processed the collected data through four rounds of translation study,analyzed and verified the effect of technology on learners’ feedback seeking behavior,explored the influencing factors behind it,and provided suggestions for improving the performance of MEAI platform of S University.The results of the study demonstrate significant differences in learners’ feedbackseeking behavior through the use of the platform.The platform has a positive influence on the pathways and tendencies of learners’ feedback-seeking behavior.Factors such as platform usability,usefulness,contextualization,and learners’ individual characteristics contribute to changes in feedback-seeking behavior.The research findings have practical implications for the improvement and development of online teaching platforms,promoting the digital transformation of education.
