| Nepal is a neighboring country of China and a country along the “One Belt and One Road”.In recent years,with the rapid development of China,more and more Nepalese students come to Chinese universities to study Chinese.There are great cultural differences between China and Nepal,and many Nepalese students who come to China to study in China have certain difficulties in cross-cultural adaptation.Investigating and researching whether there are social,cultural,learning,and psychological discomforts of Nepalese international students in China,which has positive and practical significance for promoting the development of Chinese international education.This paper draws on the relevant theories of cross-cultural adaptation research,takes Nepalese students in China from eight universities as the research object,analyzes the cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students in China,and improves the cross-cultural adaptability of Nepalese students,and puts forward relevant suggestions.As a student from Nepal,I took Nepalese students from eight colleges and universities as the research object,surveyed 65 people with the questionnaire survey method of questionnaire star method,and interviewed 11 people with the interview method,and investigated their social and cultural adaptation,learning adaptation,and Psychological adaptation to three types of surveys and interviews.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is found that the overall situation of Nepalese students studying in China is acceptable in terms of social and cultural adaptation,learning adaptation and psychological adaptation,but there are still some adaptation difficulties.In terms of social and cultural adaptation,it is difficult for Nepalese students to adapt to China’s diet,climate,prices,interpersonal relationships and gift-giving taboos.In terms of learning adaptation,whether Nepalese international students can actively speak in class,express their own opinions,actively ask teachers or Chinese friends for advice,actively participate in academic activities in class,master the professional courses they have learned,and whether they can pass the HSK test smoothly,etc.There is a degree of adaptation difficulty.In terms of psychological adaptation,Nepalese international students have psychological problems such as high study pressure,homesickness,and worry about not being able to find a good job after graduation.This paper also analyzes the factors affecting the cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students studying in China,and finds that eating habits and climate,religious customs,interpersonal relationships,language communication,and education will all affect the cross-cultural adaptation of Nepalese students studying in China.According to the results of questionnaires and interviews,the thesis puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the adaptability of Nepalese students studying in China from three types: social and cultural adaptation,learning adaptation and psychological adaptation.In terms of social and cultural adaptation: Nepalese students need to learn more about Chinese culture before coming to China;find some foreign restaurants locally;pay attention to the weather forecast of the city where the school is located and prepare in advance;communicate more with neighbors and salespersons;You can give some gifts;understand Chinese customs;some things need to do as the Romans do;the school should also organize some social practice activities and club activities.In terms of learning adaptation: students strengthen their own concept of time;the time for preview and review of professional courses should be increased;improve self-confidence,actively speak and express their own opinions in class;strengthen initiative,actively participate in class discussions;pay attention to the school’s Official website or QQ group,We Chat group;learn more grammar;actively participate in academic activities;set clear learning goals;the school should open classes on essay writing.In terms of psychological adaptation: Nepalese international students should improve their psychological endurance;take the initiative to seek advice from teachers and Chinese friends;the school can offer some courses for Nepalese international students and Chinese students to take classes together. |
