| Recently,General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed again in the report of the 20 th Party Congress that innovation is the first driving force leading development and the strategic support for building a modern economic system,and we must accelerate the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy.And enterprise innovation is the key element to determine the direction,scale and speed of development of a company.In today’s era,Chinese enterprises must make independent innovation in order to accelerate transformation and upgrade and enhance international competitiveness.Meanwhile,with the development of Internet and artificial intelligence technologies,big data has become one of the important assets of enterprises.Cloud computing,big data and other new information technologies continue to deepen and popularize,making the innovation methods and innovation capacity based on big data have been significantly improved.More and more enterprises have started to use big data technology to analyze and process the acquired data to achieve more accurate marketing,customer service,product development and investment decisions,which can not only help enterprises increase productivity,reduce costs,improve This can not only help enterprises to improve productivity,reduce costs and improve services,but also bring more business opportunities for enterprises.Therefore,in recent years,more and more enterprises have started their own digital transformation path.In China,as the backbone of the real economy,the traditional manufacturing industry shoulders the responsibility of promoting digital transformation,and the household appliance industry,which is the key in the manufacturing industry,should be more proactive in digital transformation.Midea is a high-tech company driven by digitalization and intelligence,and it is one of the companies with the highest level of digitalization in China’s manufacturing industry.The digital transformation experience of Midea Group is a typical sample of the transformation and upgrading of Chinese traditional enterprises.The digital transformation experience of Midea Group is a typical sample of the transformation and upgrading of traditional Chinese enterprises.Nowadays,when academics study the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises,few of them explore the impact of digital transformation on the innovation performance of enterprises from the perspective of case studies.Therefore,this paper takes Midea as an example to explore in depth the impact of digital transformation on enterprise innovation performance from a single case study perspective,which can play a complementary role both theoretically and practically.This paper mainly adopts the case study method to investigate the specific impact of the digital transformation of Midea Group on its innovation performance and its impact path.The specific research contents include: firstly,we briefly introduce the basic situation of Midea Group and the motivation of its digital transformation and the whole process of its digital transformation so far,then we compare the innovation input and innovation output of Midea Group before and after its digital transformation strategy to find out the impact of its digital transformation on innovation performance.Among them,the innovation input is measured by using research personnel input and research fund input,and the innovation output is measured by using the number of invention patent applications,return on invested capital,operating income growth rate and net profit growth rate.Subsequently,by combining the changes of the above indicators and the specific strategy implementation analysis of Midea Group,we found that the digital transformation of Midea Group has promoted the improvement of the innovation performance of the company through two paths: stimulating R&D investment and reducing cost to improve operational efficiency,which has certain implications for companies that want to learn how to adjust their strategies and implement their own digital transformation to improve their innovation and value creation capabilities. |
