| With competition between enterprises becoming ever fierce in this era of customization,all major enterprises,when creating a brand image of their own,have been focusing their attention to the fonts used,which perform the double functions of “language” and “visual sign”,each promoting particular fonts for their brands.This puts customized brand fonts design at the tidal head within the area of brand designs in recent years,arousing heated discussion in the communities of design and business.A relatively complete set of brand customized font helps avoid the risk of font infringements,reduce the cost in the continuous enterprise construction and play a long-term role in enterprise promotion.Such benefits demonstrate the importance of fonts in enterprise construction itself and the vital role fonts play in enterprises.Customized fonts are different from those for common use and those used as brand symbols,whose design,aside from considerations concerning basic structures of characters,should also pay attention to the following: the infusion of enterprise culture and features;the arousal of empathy between the target audience and the enterprise with such fonts acting as the language and diagram for enterprises to make their voices to establish a relationship with the social environment at large;the display of such fonts in scientific and multiple means,etc.By means of induction and analysis of existing brand-customized fonts,this study might provide some practical reference and creation inspiration for enterprises with such demands,brand designers and font designers from perspectives media application,brand internationalization and localization,and the varying display methods of such fonts.It can also be wished that more possibilities could be discovered in the maturing process in the future of such fonts. |
