The Study On The Evolution Of Style And Form Of Yi Daan’s Ancient Seal

Yi Daan is a seal cutting master during the republican period,who is skilled in making ancient seals.As the ancient seal style prevails,Yi’s styles of seal cutting is importantly referred to the study of seal cutting.Based on the research of contemporary scholars,this paper studies the evolution of the ancient seal style created by Yi.First,the paper discusses the inheritance of the Yi’s ancient seal styles,and then deals with the influence of Yi’s seal cutting discussion on the styles of seal cutting.In time sequence,the paper further orders Yi’s ancient seal works from the respects of the stages of seal cutting,way of scripts,art of composition to analysis the cause of the evolution of styles.Based his practical experience,the writer points out that Yi’s ancient seal creation has "learning the ancient" and "deviating from the ancient" phenomenon and “learning from types of seals” ideology.This ideology and the phenomenon is the key to the ultimate formation of the elegant and natural seal style.
