Public Art From The Perspective Of Site Specificity

In the current research on the development of Chinese public art,there are several research perspectives,such as art criticism,urban development,or the evolution of sculpture history,etc.,which reflect people’s concern and demand for public art on some levels.However,based on the current situation of public art and social development,we are required to pay more attention to the direct connection between public art and its site.The multi-dimensional meaning and connotation of physical and spiritual contained in a specific field make public art works have multi-level functions and values after they are involved in the field.Therefore,introduction of field properties for the Angle of view,in contrast,the current situation of public art,with the body into the physical space,mental space infiltration of field depth and homogeneity of comparison of the three dimensions,to show site specificity on the creation of public art forward propulsion,and gradually become a kind of art needs and trends.From the perspective of site specificity,combined with the practice cases of public art creation of China Academy of Art,this paper analyzes the artistic practice and creation process of artists in public space,and expounds the direction of public space art creation from the perspective of site specificity as well as its important significance and value for public art creation.At the same time,it can also reflect that public art is not only the production of the noumenon of art works,but also the excavation and promotion of sites and places.
